Character Data
Zach Glen grew up in a broken home, having to fight his way through the world at every turn. His technical ability and creativity landed him a position in Interpol, then later SciTech. He grew disaffected with SciTech after the death of the last of his family in San Angeles, taking his inheritance and going off the grid. For a while, Zach Glen worked for the Striders as a sort of on-call technical support operative. He sought training, but could not advance to the level of his peers because of the limitations of his own body. During his time with the Striders, he devised a weapon system for himself known as the Flow Blades, weapons which used moisture in the air to create a keen edge or a hard, blunt surface. His tech-friendly approach to Strider work alienated him from some Striders who were more accustomed to relying on raw ability rather than technology. Driven by a desire to repent for a mistake he made long ago, Zach Glen strove to be a good man in a bad world. He had his chance to prove himself to those who had doubted him when briefly given the power to Cross Fuse while visiting another universe, and was instrumental in saving that world and ours from the invasion of a mad version of Dr. Regal. However, not moments after the end of the battle, he was assassinated and his technology stolen. In the end, he proved himself to have had the heart of a hero, and in death may have achieved the respect he never felt he received in life.
Profile
Zach has been a lot of things: Hacker, Roboticist, Cop, CounterHacker, Strider in Training.
The things one needs to keep in mind when dealing with Zach:
He is going to do things in a way that works for him. Subclause: You can show him a better way to do it, OR, you give him specific instructions on how you want it done.
Zach is distressingly loyal to those that have earned his loyalty. Note: This includes people who have seriously screwed up; Zach's been there before, and it's a lonely place to be.
Background
Zach served with Interpol as a member of the ex-con program. He doesn't talk about the run that landed him there, however.
He worked for Shuseki Ijuin and SciTech up untill the San Angeles bombing, when he resigned to seek his life elsewhere.
He is currently (as far as anyone knows) working for the Striders. He's been considering leaving, however.
Trivia/Facts
Zach has reprogrammed his avatar three times. The first model was Shinigami.EXE, based on the character Kurosaki Ichigo from Bleach. After an unfortunate incident with Umbrella, he programmed Proteus.EXE; an image shifting blaster whose base image was based on Uryuu Ishida of Bleach fame.
The third Avatar is the Flow Ronin, and Zach could not explain exactly where the idea came from. Some might joke that it'd be what one gets if Zach actually had the Strider Genome.
Zach Glen is also the person who funded the startup for Gospel, acquired the equipment, and pretty much all of the leg work in founding the group by bringing in Midi and Vera Hall. The work took a lot of time, and just about every zenny he had. Thus, Zach is a bit protective of Gospel as a whole.
Zach killed Baroque, one of the Blackguards.
He also saved the Universe once, but he doesn't know that because the Irregulars wouldn't tell him about it.
Zach saved the universe twice in his life.
Other
Zach died at the hands of Nebula agent Dragonfly after helping Lan Hikari save both the M3 world and the Battle Network world.
Dragonfly made off with the Cross Fusion chip that Alt-Doctor Hikari gave Zach.
Death Notes
(Gospel Spinny)
A valued member and comrade of our assembly had perished in the line of duty yesterday, giving his all in order to save the City of Neo-Tokyo... and more, our universe, from the ravages of an insane Doctor Regal from another dimension.
Zach was the last of his line, just seemingly an average man who kept finding himself in strange situations. He wanted to be a Strider, but he apparently lacked the innate gifts required. He had no superpowers, no genetic enhancements, no powerful cyberetics. He did, however, have a gift for technology, which he used to focus his attention and talents. He was an innovative hacker, trying his best with what he was given to achieve his goals. He was earnest and straightforward, applying himself wherever he could, even if his actions didn't always work out. He tried his best.
And so he did what he thought he needed to do in order to succeed, and succeed he did, at the cost of his own life. Dragonfly's actions will not be forgotten, nor will Zach's sacrifice.
However, we will not fall into the same pitfall as our enemies. If we strike an eye for an eye, all the world will be blinded, and we will fall, likely without seriously inconviencing Nebula. They have yet more forces we don't know about, I am sure. And Nebula is not the only group out there we must fight. Black SHIELD yet lives. Mutual destruction will not solve our problems. Therefore, if you get the chance, try to take Dragonfly alive. Good luck, and watch your backs. They are coming.

Last night, I have decided to visit the Alternate Universe to find out a bit more about the goings on in that universe. It is while I was gathering this information that what could be considers of the Masters of that universe struck. I, with the help of the Maverick Hunter Alloy attacked two of these Masters:
(Pictures of Math Man and BurgerK.EXE)
Math Man has escaped from myself and Alloy while we were a bit busy from keeping BurgerK.EXE from serving us up (or me at least -- as I got crippled during the fight). At any rate, Mr. Zach Glen went after Math Man and apparently finished him off as I didn't see a sight of him for the rest of the fight.
While everything was starting to settle down, we had one more problem to face with, that world's version of Dr. Regal and his Giant Laser Man. We who were in Neo-Tokyo went up against it and in the end in came down to Zach Glen and that world's Mega Man to destroy the Giant Laser Man and defeat Dr. Regal (or at least, that world's Dr. Regal).
We had thought that the fight was over, however, an unknown reploid, who answers to name of Dragonfly
(Picture of "Dragonfly")
Shows up and assaulted Zach Glen, and as the GNN reported, also killed him. I have no idea what happened to the Power Armor Mr. Glen was wearing as I've lost conscious due to the wounds I have suffered.
I suppose that is all, save for that giant Dimensional Portal that's in space that appeared when Giant Laser Man shown up. I know it doesn't need to be said, but Bad News seems to be the course of the day.
I'll be in Namura General have the doctors take care of my leg for most of the week. And if you want, please send your condolences to what remains of the Glen clan.

-Sara Steele on the Irregular Forums
"He was one of those humans who I would have called a nuisance back when I was under your command. He wanted to be a front-line fighter. In another age, he could have been. In our time, he was obsolete. But he would not acknowledge that, and so he would often put himself into danger. His friends would often chide him for his recklessness, but what always stood out for me was his commitment to doing what was right. Even if it was foolish."
-Epsilon, in a conversation with General
Tens are dead and hundreds are injured in the aftermath of the dimensional incident in Neo Tokyo that ended early Friday morning. The dimensional rift had been located in the residential district of Neo Tokyo, with many of the buildings in the immediate area having been evacuated for safety.
The relative peace of the area around the rift was disrupted on Thursday night by the appearance of what is being called a 'dimensional area' that radiated out from the rift to cover the city, and was steadily expanding over the Pacific. After the appearance of the 'dimensional area', a multi-story tall Laser Man appeared and began wreaking havoc in the area. Repliforce and Hunter units responded to the attack with artillery support.
The enormous Laser Man was defeated by assaults by multiple parties, including the other universe's version of Mega Man and Zach Glen. Mr. Glen had acquired experimental power armor known as a 'cross fusion' mode from the alternate universe to participate in the battle. However, Zach Glen died from wounds sustained in the battle, and his power armor apparently was destroyed shortly after the dimensional area was dissipated.
Property damage from the incident is estimated to be in the millions of zenny. Reconstruction efforts are underway, as well as search and rescue for any additional survivors.
CERN did not issue an official statement on the possibility of future rifts, but noted that the distortion further ahead in Earth's orbit around the sun continues to grow. CERN is still investigating the situation and has not issued a formal statement about the demeanor or possible threat this new rift poses.
-GNN Report on the Incident
(Repliforce Spinny)
"Prismatic Spider, reporting. As GNN reported, a giant Laser Man invaded our universe through the rift, a 'dimensional area' spreading though the portal throughout Neo Tokyo and beyond. Apparently, the alternate-universe Doctor Regal was the leader of an enemy group intending to take over the world. Using the TriData, He began to combine the cyberworld with the real world in order to use the power he would gain to make a bid for world domination. The dimensional rift allowed him to begin extending his power into our universe as well, thus the giant Laser Man.
I arrived with an Engineering squad in order to support the fighters present and reduce casualties. Laser Man was defeated, and Alt-Regal was taken back to the other universe by Lord Wily, an alternate universe Wily. The rift closed soon after, and the spreading dimensional area in our universe vanished. It appears that there is no more sign of the rift, and the dimensional threshold has stabilized. We shouldn't have any more trouble from the denizens of that universe. Other members might be able to give us more information on happened before we got a dose of Interdimensional Cyber Kaiju Theatre. Prismatic Spider out."

(Repliforce Spinny)
Zach Glen had managed to acquire the technology of the other universe to perform 'Cross Fusion', which allowed him to merge with his cyberspace avatar in the real world to fight. He was, however, exhausted in the battle with Laser Man, and while we were recovering from the aftermath, a member of the Nebula Syndicate, code named 'Dragonfly' (Pictures attatched), struck him down and took the technology, subsequently escaping despite attempts by some members present to stop him. Zach appeared to have been killed almost instantly by the assault.

There were many beautiful days after the end of the last dimensional rift. The world was saved. The threat of the World Three was seemingly broken. The Net Saviors got back to their normal lives. It was not the end, of course. Nothing ends so cleanly. But it was a period of relative peace they would reflect on in their harder times.
Lan never was the same after he returned. He wouldn't talk of what happened there except in generalities. Dr. Regal, even when he regained his memory and once more threatened the world, could never clearly remember that night. Lord Wily, if he saw anything, would not speak of it. All Lan ever said to people was that Zach Glen had died. He wouldn't talk about the circumstances for many years, and only then to Mayl many years later. It was the only time, he told her, he ever truly felt like he had failed.
For a time, Lan didn't want to NetBattle. It wasn't a matter of serious concern during the short period of peace the world enjoyed. But peace doesn't last forever. New threats emerged to the Internet and the world. He was needed. Lan wanted to resist the call. He didn't want to face the possibility of seeing a friend die in front of him again. But he could no more ignore the cries of innocent people than he could deny his own nature. His conscience demanded that he act.
The moment came when Dr. Regal kidnapped his father to try to unlock the secrets of SPECTRUM once again. It was the biggest mistake Regal could have made. Lan pursued him with an intensity that no one had ever seen before. Lan and MegaMan became two sides of one blade, an invincible Net Savior driven onward by all of his friends. He would not give up even in the face of what seemed to be insurmountable odds.
At the final battle, Dr. Regal and his army of Darkloids once more fell before Lan's WideSwrd. There was never any real chance that he would have succeeded. Not against Lan Hikari. The WideSwrd was at Dr. Regal's neck. Lan stared down into his eyes. Eternity passed as the darkness in his own heart whispered in his ears. End him. Make him unable to hurt anyone ever again. He's nothing but darkness. Just like you.
But Lan would not. He remembered why Zach Glen fought. It wasn't because he was angry. It wasn't because he wanted to hurt people. Zach Glen fought and died for his world because he had the power to make a difference. He died so that other people could be free. He believed in what his father had said all those years ago.
Lan drew the blade away, letting the authorities take Dr. Regal into custody again. It would not be Lan's last battle. There would be other tests, other challenges. It would be a long time before he would finally set his PET down and fight no more. But he would never forget the lesson he learned on that April day. It would be something he would pass down to his own son as they visited the grave they had made for the stranger every year: Never give up on anyone, no matter how humble they might be. Even the most ordinary man can learn to become a hero.
Centuries later, another young man would once again prove those words to be true, doing battle with a threat from beyond the stars. But that is another story.

Oh, would that my words were written down! Would that they were inscribed in a record:
That with an iron chisel and with lead they were cut in the rock forever!
But as for me, I know that my Vindicator lives, and that he will at last stand forth upon the dust;
And from my flesh I shall see God; my inmost being is consumed with longing.
Whom I myself shall see: my own eyes, not another's, shall behold him,
But you who say, "How shall we persecute him, seeing that the root of the matter is found in him?"
Be afraid of the sword for yourselves, for these crimes deserve the sword; that you may know that there is a judgment.
