Faction Information

C-Level

The C-Level refers to the various high level executives found within an organization.

After Alexia Ashford's downfall, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Albert Wesker, assembled 4 men to aid him in rebuilding Umbrella. Those 4 men were:

Of the 4 men that were brought in, only Dr. Regal and Timothy Caine remain. Both Dr. Weil and William Wiggin have since left to pursue other opportunities.

Due to their high ranking nature within the company and for their part in reviving Umbrella, the three remaining C-Level members are often viewed as the most powerful men within the company.

The U.S.S.

The Umbrella Security Service (U.S.S.), which is also known as the Umbrella Special Forces Unit (U.S.F.U.), is Umbrella's own in-house paramilitary unit. This unit was formed to counter corporate terrorism and V.I.P. abductions. Every member of the USS receives training in the field of hand to hand combat and small arms weaponry at the Rockfort Island Facility. They are also taught how to react to potential viral outbreaks and how to defend themselves against B.O.W.s.

The rank structure for the U.S.S. is as followed. There are currently six squadrons of trained commandos, Alpha, Beta, Charlie, Delta, Echo and Foxtrot. Each squadron is comprised of a maximum of 12 members. Being a member of the U.S.S. is a dangerous occupation, and there is a high mortality rate. The U.S.S. agent known as HUNK is currently the longest serving member of the unit, he is also the one U.S.S. agent who has survied the most missions. Due to his seniority and survival rate, he is currently in charge of the Alpha Squadron much to the chagrin of his squad members.

The dress code for U.S.S. agents is as followed, they tend to wear solid-color gray fatigues, protective vests, gas masks, kneepads, combat boots, gloves and SWAT team style helmets. There isn't a whole lot of variation in the dress code seeing as most agents are regular sized humans. These agents are often kept on reserve for important missions or to accompany the V.I.P.s on business trips in potentially dangerous regions of the world. U.S.S. agents can be deployed to various Umbrella branches, when this happens, there are usually 2 agents that are dressed down as regular security guards, while the rest are stationed behind closed doors in full gear.

Seeing as U.S.S. agents are meant to protect Umbrella’s V.I.P. members, they are trained to operate a wide variety of vehicles, most of them being ground based vehicles such as HUMVEES but a few members are well versed in piloting aircrafts such as helicopters and even jet fighters. U.S.S. agents are also taught basic first aid skills and are excellent HAM radio operators.

While at the Rockfort Island Facility, U.S.S. agents are trained in a wide variety of weaponry, however, they are taught to specialize in hand to hand combat and small arms weaponry. The standard weaponry of a U.S.S. agent tends to be their bare hands, MP5 submachine guns, various types of grenades and Claymore mines.

Current U.S.S. agents include the following: HUNK.

Other Umbrella employees that may work with the U.S.S. include:

Former Umbrella characters who may have worked with the U.S.S. included: Elias Stockmann, Sam Shanks.

The U.B.C.S.

Image:UBCSL.png

The Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Services (U.B.C.S.), is another one of Umbrella’s special forces unit. This unit has on average 120 operatives who are divided among four platoons, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta. Within each platoon there are 2 to 3 squads/companies, each squad is referred to by the letter A, B or C.

Due to the high mortality rate associated with the U.B.C.S.s’ hazardous missions, most members of the unit tend to be mercenaries or war criminals that have been liberated from prison in exchange for their services.

The rank structure within the U.B.C.S. is as followed. Every platoon has a single commander, every squadron has a squad leader and second in command. In case of injury or death within a platoon, the most qualified officer will step up and take charge.

Of note, within every squadron there is a squad supervisor, this is a special position that only high command knows of. Squad supervisors are charged with gathering data on B.O.W.s and other infected creatures, it is their duty to bring back that information at all cost. Squad supervisors are not aware of the identities of other supervisors until they are informed by high command.

The dress code for the U.B.C.S. varies from individual depending on rank, function, racetype and where they are being deployed to. The standard clothing if you can call it that consists of the following; black combat boots, kneepads and gloves, beige-colored fatigue pants, a green fatigue shirt, and a black tactical vest with the U.B.C.S. logo printed on the back. Only squad leaders and commanders wear the U.B.C.S. green beret.

Seeing as the U.B.C.S. is made up of mercenaries and war criminals, the skills one can expect to find in a platoon varies greatly. It is possible to have pilots, field medics and communication specialists in any given platoon.

Standard members of the U.B.C.S. have access to a wide variety of weaponry, this includes: 9mm pistols, shotguns, sniper rifles, assault rifles, sub machineguns, flamethrowers, grenades, experimental mine throwers, rocket launchers and experimental weaponry from Umbrella.

While most members of the U.B.C.S. are regular humans, the squadron is also home to cyborgs and enhanced humans. It’s not unusual for these members to wield specialized weaponry that is different from the U.B.C.S. norm; these members may even have their own power armors. The U.B.C.S. also works alongside some of Umbrella’s more intelligent B.O.W.s. from time to time.

Current members of the U.B.C.S. include: Bradley Eildath, Hans Shultz, Humphrey Wilkinson.

B.O.W.s

When men believe they can play God, these are the results that they can achieve. Bio Organice Weapons (B.O.W.s) are grotesque creatures that defy nature, these monsters are sometimes created for science, other times; they are simply created to cause chaos and in very rare instances, they are created by accident.

It should be noted that any organic entity can become a B.O.W., this includes humans, animals, insects and plants. Ways to become a B.O.W. include genetic modification, being infected by one of Umbrella's many viruses, or, infecting someone that has been genetically modified. Very few B.O.W.s look normal, there is usually a change in their physical appearance and demeanor, it should be noted that B.O.W.s that have not been conditioned by Umbrella are very aggressive creatures.

None of the humanoid B.O.W.s. that have been created have any real intellect, at best, they are no better than a young child. These are creatures driven by the most basic of instinct and survival is the order of the day unless otherwise ordered by Umbrella. The goal of creating a highly intelligent B.O.W. that can be mass produced is high on Umbrella’s list of things to do.

Umbrella may not be too far off from achieving such a goal, as rumors swirl about that some members within the faction have undergone processes that have changed them on the inside but not the outside.

Current B.O.W.s include: Monolith

Deceased B.O.W.s include: Blade Dancer.

Former B.O.W.s included: Blowfish, Thirty.

Management & Administration

Now, what would an evil corporation be without its various pencil pushers? Nowhere, that’s where. Like all organizations, Umbrella employs thousands of employees, of those thousands; a good 95 percent are unaware of the black projects that are currently in the works. These are the employees who blissfully sit at their desks, performing various paperwork as they occasionally joke about a Raccoon City incident within their office walls.

There are a very select few who do get invited into Umbrella’s inner circle, these are employees who have been judged worthy enough to keep the most confidential information secret. In exchange, those who become part of the inner circle do receive plum positions and are often put in charge of regular employees.

Current members with management or administrative positions include:

Former characters with management or administrative positions included: Alicia MacDonnel.

Research & Development

We’ve discovered that Umbrella is spearheaded by a trio of founding members, that it has its own paramilitary unit, that it employs monsters and that pencil pushers are needed for mundane tasks. What else can one expect from such a large organization that dabbles where man should not venture? Oh yes, scientists. Umbrella is a cornucopia of scientists in white lab coats, but these aren’t your father’s scientists, these are the people that dare cross the ethics line, the bottom line for most of these scientists is not, can it be done? But how quickly can they achieve it and once that’s done, what’s next?

Umbrella’s scientists are a talented group, their expertise covers a wide array of scientific fields, but most do tend to concentrate their efforts on some type of bio-related field. Umbrella scientists do have access to the latest medical equipment and test subjects. Please note that any medical breakthrough or research accomplished while employed with Umbrella will belong to the organization.

Current members within the R&D department include:

Former characters within the R&D department included: Savannah Black.

Products

Over the years Umbrella has manufactured a wide variety of products, here is but a brief list.

  • Umbrella Brand Cigarettes & Coffee, these were developed and introduced to the world market by Timothy Caine.
  • Adravil, Safsprin and Uspirim, these are over the counter drugs that were produced in the days of Alexia Ashford.
  • Prosprim, an anti-depressant pill.
  • Hazmat Harry Doll, after the Raccoon City incident, Umbrella's new management was ordered to educate the public about the dangers of bioweaponry, this toy was aimed at educating young children about such dangers.
  • Military Equipment & Weaponry, Umbrella has made a good chunk of its fortune by selling military weaponry and equipment to the various governments of the world, these include the following: Standard firearms and firearm components, flamethrowers, mine throwers, energy weapons, computer guided systems, GPS units and power armors.

Viruses & Parasites

Over the years Umbrella has studied viruses and parasites in a bid to design the perfect mass produced supersoldier. Below are some of those viruses and parasites.

Progenitor Virus: The Progenitor Virus, which is also known as the Mother Virus or Founder Virus, was the first mutagenic virus discovered by Umbrella. This virus causes mutation in the host's gene, in non-mamals that would include rapid growth and increased aggressiveness, while mammals would exhibit various new attributes, including the symptoms displayed in non-mammals. Unfortunately, these results were not to Umbrella's liking, but the virus did motivate the company to design their own virus, the virus that would eventually become known as the T-Virus.

G-Virus: The G-Virus is one of the more complex viruses in Umbrella's possession. This virus can heal serious injuries, as well as induce artifical evolution. There is a price to pay for each evolution caused by the virus, the host will slowly lose all signs of cohesive intelligence and instead become obsessed with self preservation. This virus has only been tested on a single mouse, 5 stages of evolution were observed before the mutated mouse was destroyed. This virus can only be passed on by injection or ingestion. Unlike the T-Virus, the subject does not decompose when infected.

T/G Virus: This virus allows the infected to harness electro-magnetic energy, not only can the infected produce high-voltage attacks; they can also produce a magnetic field around themselve, essentially creating a natural forcefield. Those infected by the virus will have the appearance and strength of a Tyrant T-092. The infected does maintain its original level of intelligence. Those infected by the T/G Virus are essentially weak to energy weapons and plasma. If the infected is seriously wounded, they will begin to mutate as the body attempts to adapt, continuous assault on a mutating body may cause it to explode. Infection may only be achieved through injection.

T-Veronica Virus: Also known as the T-Alexia virus, this virus was discovered after the Willamette incident. Whoever revived Alexia Ashford appears to be behind this virus. Umbrella is still studying the specifics of this virus, so far what is known is that this is a mixture of the Progenitor Virus and another virus. Whoever is behind this new virus left a logo embedded in it.

T-Virus: The T-Virus is a mutagenic agent that was designed for wide-scale biowarfare against humans and reploids. The T-Virus appears to turn most humanoids into mindless cannibalistic zombies. The best hosts for the T-Virus are mammal based, but plant life, insects, fish and reptiles may also benefit from the virus, the changes seen in those creatures generally includes a growth spur and increased aggressiveness. The T-Virus was designed to turn humans into Tyrants, unfortunately; only a low percentage of the human population can be mutated into a Tyrant. The virus works on both the living and deceased. The virus can be passed on by injection, ingestion, being bitten by an infected host, seeping in an open wound or by inhaling the virus.

Wesker's Virus: This is the mysterious virus that was given to Wesker. The exact details of the virus are not known, but it is believed that it can bring the dead back to life without turning them into a horrible beast. The only side effect of this virus appears to be a mutation of the eyes. Rumors are that it may also increase a person's natural healing factor, giving them almost superhuman endurance and strength as the body is always healing itself. It is believed that an injection is the only way to transmit this virus.

Ne-a Parasite: A designer parasite created by Umbrella, the parasite is instrumental in the creation of a Nemesis. Much like the T-Virus, the parasite needs to find a compatible host, if the parasite finds an incompatible host; the body will only live for 5 minutes. When the parasite does find a compatible host, it mutates the body into an intelligent and obedient monster known as a Nemesis.

Rumored parasite: There are rumors that Umbrella may have discovered a parasite capable of mutating both humans and animals. It is said once the parasite attaches itself to a host body, it continues to grow until the parasite is capable of leaving the body to seek out others to infect. There are rumors of there being two types of parasites, a regular parasite and a master parasite. There has been no proof that this parasite actually exists.

(It has been said before that Umbrella has access to what is found in most RE games, but I'm certain this list of viruses can change or have altered histories to fit the M3 continue.)

Enemies & Rivals

Like all factions, Umbrella has its fair share of enemies, critics and rivals.

The following can be considered a list of Umbrella's critics: Various environmental groups (Earth Liberation Front, Greenpeace), animal right groups (PETA), Reploid rights groups (The Rain Foundation), family members and survivors of the Raccoon City & Willamette incidents (Willamette Survivors for Peace). Fortunately these particular groups are mostly harmless.

Umbrella’s greatest enemy at this point may very well be Repliforce. The faction has since absorbed S.T.A.R.S. into its ranks, including 2 surviving members from the Raccoon City incident; Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. Then there's the fact that Repliforce's leader, General, is the man responsible for cleansing the city with the Apocalypse Cannon.

Dr. Weil's Neo Arcadia is currently a target of interest for Wesker. Having never forgiven his abrupt departure from Umbrella, Wesker has begun to make it his duty to cause as much grief as possible for Weil and his followers.

Rank

The rank structure within the Umbrella organization currently works as followed.

  • 7 = Albert Wesker
  • 6 = Whoever is worthy enough of becoming Vice President for the company.
  • 5 = Right hand men like Dr. Regal and Timothy Caine.
  • 4 = Platoon Commanders and the very best Umbrella has to offer.
  • 3 = Squad & Division COs.
  • 2 = Squad & Division XOs.
  • 1 = Regular troops
  • 0 = New characters and people being punished.
  • ? = Squad Supervisors, they could have any rank from 1 to 4.
