"If you can't do something smart, do something right."
Profile
A former professional gladiator in Tartarus' underground arena, Typhon became a hero during the zombie viral outbreak. While he fulfills the anti-intellectual approach that most muscles stereotype, Typhon is in fact quite clever and cunning in his own combat tactics. Persistent, his willful nature can also come across as stubborn. An inherent wariness for authoritative figures leads to friction with the meticulous and regimented. This socially inept mannerism stems from a deep distrust of large institutions. However, those who know Typhon well know that his rough and blunt exterior serves only to mask his golden heart. Despite lacking tact when speaking in large congregations, Typhon is known for his sincerity and gentle nature in more comfortable and personal settings. Cultural shortcomings aside, Typhon has proven to be a more than worthy asset in the battlefield.
Background
Typhon was a collective effort by a group of gamblers to make the ultimate gladiatorial reploid to compete in Tartarus’ arena. As time went by, he proved himself again and again. With each victory or loss, Typhon gained the insight of his experiences to read his foes and harness his skills for combat. As the group that funded him gained profit, they put a percentage of their pocket earnings into slowly upgrading Typhon to increase his odds. Life was good for Typhon and his employers, that is until the new year. With bombs activated, Alexia’s plague was spread throughout the globe. No city was spared, relief was stretched thin, Tartarus was not a top priority. The residents of Tartarus were completely overwhelmed by the animated corpses of their own dead and fallen. Most of Typhon’s creators were slaughtered, but a few were spared thanks to Typhon’s intervention. While rescuing his employers and escorting them out of the city, he saved others along the way.
As a reward for his efforts (and with the Arena destroyed anyways), Typhon was released from his contractual obligations and essentially his bondage to his creators. With nothing to do and the world falling apart around him, ravaged by the zombie menace, Typhon did the only thing he knew how to do. Typhon fought. He would go where no Repliforce relief went, the seedier less favorable territories that were not quite so high on the list of priorities. He never intended to be a hero, he merely hoped to gain attention from several note-worthy individuals in the underworld that might sponsor him later in more gladiatorial games once order was re-established.
Little did he know that it would catch the eye of another group, the Hunters. As the gruesome days came to pass, Typhon had saved more poverty stricken innocents than underworld bosses. Apparently the latter had already secured their own skins with resources available to them. Dozens saved turned to hundreds saved. With nothing to show for his trouble but the testimony and gratitude of the commoners, Typhon was left with nothing but a bit of fifteen minute fame.
While Repliforce made him an offer to enlist among the infantry, Typhon was quick to decline. He was repulsed by the global institutions that shunned his sport and overlooked their cries during the zombie crisis. A regimented life style was not for him, Typhon’s disdain for authority was another reason he jumped at the invitation from the Hunters. As if to rub General’s nose, he picked the Hunters as much for their lax structure as well as to show his disapproval of Repliforce’s dispersal selection through the viral outbreak.
Rebuilt by Hunter technology, Typhon returns to the field of battle.
