Tunnel Rhino is a firm believer in taking the direct approach to any situation, preferring to go with his gut instinct instead of thinking things through. Not the smartest of the Mavericks by a long shot, he's an ideal follower, dependent on others to guide his action to constructive ends, his thoughts seldom straying from destruction. Once tasked, he is fanatical, devoting all of his energy to accomplishing his goal, whether it be a battle or cleaning the Ride Armors. Uses large drills known as Tornado Fangs in both work and warfare, and is capable of drilling easily through most substances. Remarkably calm-tempered most of the time, he only gets truly aggressive when he's angry, and once he is, it doesn't die down until he's exhausted. With his simple attitude, he tends to dote on and protect the smaller, weaker Mavericks, which suits most of them just fine. Some of his fellow Mavericks wonder if he's color-blind, but the garishly-colored Rhino simply won't say.
Background
Tunnel Rhino was once nothing more than one of many civilian models of reploid made to do heavy duty labor more efficiently than a human with a large machine. Tunnel was, essentially, the large machine the humans used, but sentient. He worked diligently by drilling through solid rock to make tunnels for mining operations within the company that made him, for less pay than the average Repliforce grunt and with meager living conditions.
He wasn't built to think and his overseers made sure of this. But one day he learned of the revival of the CRF thanks to the Maverick Vava, and that combined with their message sparked a flame of passion and determination inside the rhino; he didn't have to put up with these humans bossing him around day after day. He could live his own life how he wanted it! So Tunnel fled one fine day, and it's said he never stopped moving until he went across two states to the nearest big city teleporter (he had terrible directional sense and could not find his way back to Denver).
He found his way to a Maverick cell and instantly signed up. Once at the Maverick base he was administered the Maverick virus and his resentment for the humans blossomed, as well as giving him a new thirst for destruction. Despite the changes in the Maverick leadership and the removal of the virus, he remains true to it's cause and completely loyal to his ideals.
Trivia/Facts
- Tunnel Rhino has a fear of becoming obsolete, and thus distrusts many radical scientific and technological advances; it takes him a while to warm up to them. Perhaps the best example is his aversion to caustic chemicals, that not only greatly harm him but also make mining and tunneling faster than merely drilling, which upsets him.
- Tunnel has a large rock and soil collection from different parts of the planet, and hopes to one day gather specimens from Mars to add to his collection.
- Won the Pong Gold Medal in Battle and Chase, 2220.
