History
The Nation of Z was completed mere weeks after Protoman devastated the world. Likely worked on in advance, The Nation of Z first rose into the sky in January 15th, 2221 and provided a safe haven from zombies, terror, and other dangers. Payrolled primarily by Daryn Luna, the island is nonetheless officially in Dr. Regal's name allowing the nation to be fully legal in the UN Charter. Mayor Oderico is the stated mayor of Z-Nation.
The island is is constantly changing to meet the needs of its inhabitants. In fact, it seems to follow the ideal of "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need." It is a basically socialist nation which thrives on the members of its community providing the full breadth of their services whether it be cooking, ninjaing, transport, or teaching. As such the Nation is not particularly large at present but is steadily growing as more people from the outside world are brought in. These people are typically hand picked for the skills they can provide, or brought in as part of a rescue operation, the Z government offering a safe haven away from the madness down below.
The high authority on the island is Grave and Nebula. Naturally Dr. Regal and Daryn have the highest authority within Grave regarding island procedures due to the latter paying for it and the former being the actual owner. Mayor Oderico is the public face. Despite this, administration is generally handled based on who actually wants to do it just like in regards to recruitment so there hasn't really been administrative friction.
Important Figures
The Oderico Family: A german merchant family saved by Daryn from the Bonnes in a raid against the Luxor. While Daryn was unable to get The Standard Bearer to Oderico, he owed a life debt and Daryn maintained good relations with him until Z was complete, at which point he was invited to be the mayor of Z. A family man, he gave great deals to Daryn regarding the Nation of Z's defenses.
Dolores Mullkins: One of the first of Z's recruits, she was saved from zombies in Warsaw as a favor to Jake Mullkins who helped Z out in one of their missions. She was a former mechanical engineer for Daimler, a German Car Company.
El Rei: A hacker/car ninja who used to drive in Formula 1.
Andrew: He used to run his bakery in Innerpeace until Daryn stole it. Now he BakeZ rather than Bakes.
Yahoot: A ninja gourmet and also a chef!
Bruns Fester: A master metalsmith who used to work in the Renaissance. It took a zombie invasion to convince him to move to Z. He tends to work in the engine room which doubles as a smithery and provides the 'neat' weapons for Z. Can he use the Golden Hammer?
Sister Punya Bhagwat: An Indian nun serving as a missionary to Z.
Tamako and Ran: Ninja sisters cousins. Ran uses drunken boxing whereas Tamako throws lots and lots of knives. They primarily provide ninja services though Tamako also helps as assistant chef and looking at Josef's pecs. Her mother and three other hot springs employees came along, naturally.
Dex Ogreon: Wilymon Champion of the Woooooorld!
Dr. Takeshi Shinchiro: Resident Mad Scientist, every organization needs one. His lab is on a springboard in case he builds something that could destroy the island or worse.
Miss Mari: An innocent fifth grade school teacher.
Captain Kurohige: Transporter that Josef found somehow. Mysterious.
In addition to these people, there is a small crew from N1 that helps run Z-TV along with 15 Japanese marketers and a bodybuilding monkey. That's right. A bodybuilding monkey.
