"INPUT RESPONSE."
Profile
Siarnaq is the result of one way the human brain can respond to intense trauma. A genetically engineered superhuman, or "Mega Man", Siarnaq was developed to be the perfect assassin. Raised in seclusion within a series of Black SHIELD laboratories, Siarnaq trained with his family to become supremely effective killing machines -- and Siarnaq was the best. Siarnaq received additional, special training from Grandmaster Meio himself to become a supreme killer, being pushed harder and faster to develop than any of his other peers. It drove Siarnaq to dehumanize himself, becoming nothing more than a weapon to be sent into the field to accomplish missions. Like his brothers and sister, Siarnaq is extremely well-educated, with a focus on computers and technology beyond his mastery of the arts of assassination. Siarnaq is the Aesir team's hacker, and is just as machine-like online as he is in real life. Siarnaq's apparent lack of empathy is imperfect, as there are moments where he seems like he can be reached by compassion. Thetis regularly tries to make Siarnaq act more human, but his efforts regularly fail -- not out of a lack of capacity, but out of Siarnaq's fear of experiencing more pain.
Background
Siarnaq is a product of Grandmaster Meio's long-standing eugenics project and bioengineering program. Meio spent countless years cultivating the previously lost Strider bloodlines, and then with Black SHIELD and the Professor's assistance, had his somewhat slow research move forward by leaps and bounds. They then combined them in an attempt to create a number of the "Jade Man," a being of superhuman capabilities and awesome physical prowess for their own purposes. Meio hoped to create this perfect individual, and be able to remake humanity in his own equally perfect image. The six Aesir are what appear to be the culmination of this project, and Siarnaq is one of them, though they are not quite at the level of physical perfection Meio had hoped for.
The Aesir were raised inside secure laboratories, trained from birth to be perfect assassins. Their physical training was superhuman, with simple games designed to train critical combat skills gradually becoming more and more complex as they grew older. They were given the finest education possible, though it was through the philsophical lens of the Grandmaster; war was seen as an inevitable, necessary and enjoyable fact of life. Siarnaq, displaying greater ability (both natural and learned) in the assassin's arts, was specially trained by the Grandmaster to be the model ninja. His training and life in general was harder than that of the other Aesir, with the Grandmaster's personal training pushing him to greater heights whether he wanted to achieve them or not. Eventually, this lead to Siarnaq attempting to escape from the laboratory that was his home, finding that the security systems were not as hardened from the inside and battering his way past them to leave a clear route to the outside world. His training left him prepared for the traps and security he ran into, but when the final checkpoint was in sight, he was felled by the Grandmaster himself.
When Siarnaq next awoke, time had passed, and he had felt the touch of the Zain Machine.
With his loyalty reinstilled, the teachings of the Grandmaster came more rapidly and became more challenging. Whether the Grandmaster saw his escape attempt as a sign of his skill and readiness to advance to the next stage of his training or simply wished to keep him too worn out and too focused on his training to try it again, Siarnaq never knew, but he refused to let the old man break him. He found himself looking forward to time spent with the Professor, as it gave him an opportunity to do something not quite so physically demanding and also one for planning. His rebellious streak had not been completely removed, it seemed, as after months of more intensive training, another escape attempt was made. Siarnaq made it further this time, trying an alternate route he had planned out of the laboratory.
Once again, he was stopped by the Grandmaster. Once again, he was taken to the Zain Machine.
This trend continued for several years, and each time the Grandmaster also removed something he cared about from his life. Longer and longer he would go without any sign of his loyalty being questionable, and then he would attempt escape and be returned to the Zain Machine after failing. Inevitably, his lessons would show him what he did wrong, and he would try again. The Zain Machine eventually won out, and after signs of the once energetic youth getting more and more cold and machine-like with each use of the Zain Machine, he finally become the quiet, cold killer that Meio wanted. The side-effects of the Zain Machine were the primary cause of this, but in truth he was scared of being put through it again, and suffering the pain that the Grandmaster would inevitably cause him. Though his speech had changed to be more computerized as the alterations to his mind and brain itself became more complex, his skill did not diminish, and soon he was ready to be released upon the world with the rest of the Aesir.
One of Siarnaq's more notable recent assignments was to track down Gospel to assess their threat level. Siarnaq infiltrated Charlie Airstar's ship, the Red Thunder, while they had made a stop in Siberia for something. When Gospel seemed to be most vulnerable, Siarnaq attacked, but ultimately was driven off the ship by Red Alert's combined efforts. He has not forgotten his failure in eliminating Gospel's leader, and Alloy has remained a target in his mind. The recent events involving Ouroboros' march across Asia and Europe after the Black Legion has kept him occupied, turning his precision to the task of destroying the undead whenever he saw them. There were several detours for Siarnaq in this long march, including robbing a bank in disguise in Canada at the behest of one of the Striders aligned with Ouroboros, assisting an Einherjar with the defense of his armored train the Iron Dragon while it crashed across Sri Lanka (and attempting shock tactics during this operation), and soundly defeating Magna Centipede when he challenged Siarnaq out of pride. Unfortunately, he was not present for the final assault on Alexia's stronghold; another mission required his attention. In this new world, however, Siarnaq will prove to be a most useful tool to the Grandmaster and Ouroboros.
An event that Siarnaq himself cannot place in his own history was an encounter with James Houseman IV at some point early in his development. He was speaking to Siarnaq and the other Aesir on a subject he cannot recall, but he does remember the man's kind words and being patted on the head by him. He took to him immediately, and has found that anything that prompts that memory can return him to it. Perhaps this is proof that he has not had the empathy and emotion completely removed from him by the Zain Machine yet.
Trivia/Facts
- Siarnaq was the chorus line in a presentation of "Putting on the Ritz" as performed by Pegasus Eclair.
- Siarnaq has one incomplete mission.
- Siarnaq placed 3rd in the 2221 N1 King of the Hill competition. This was partially due to the fact that he was delayed via stunning or obstacles so many times on the way up that he could not reach the roof to combat the other contestants effectively.
Other
Siarnaq speaks in all caps, but this is not shouting. Instead, it represents his robotic monotone. Please RP accordingly.
