A US-based data security company, SciTech has contracts with software companies including Applesoft, several major corporations, and STARS. After the US fell away from the UN, SciTech saw a big opportunity and snapped up several of the UN's biggest thinkers into their employee pool, including Dr. Sarah Fairchild in R&D and Midi in Data Security.

SciTech is run by CEO Shuseki Ijuin, the head of the company and brains behind the business. Directly beneath him is his son Eugene Chaud, who is in charge of physical security for the company and its assets.

SciTech develops technology which includes power armor and weapons, though these things are all contracted out to other groups and do not generally remain in the company. Their full-time contract with STARS means that the latter group will intervene immediately should SciTech's physical assets be attacked as a military target. Repliforce also protects them as part of their charter.

SciTech produces reploids as well, and does occasionally come up with new and creative experimental designs. One of their main functions, however, is keeping data secure, and it is their job to prevent malicious hackers from causing trouble on the internet: US, or worldwide (since many problems on foreign 'nets will eventually center onto the US). They have developed the antivirus software that protects many of today's banks and big businesses. They also serve as a kind of think-tank for some of the great scientific minds of the world, or, at least, those not currently allied with RF or the Hunters specifically.

Character concepts for this faction include otherwise "unaffiliated" science geniuses, roboticists, and of course hackers. It is discouraged to apply for combat-style characters in SciTech as that is not the purpose of the group.
