Nicholas Kraska came from an ordinary lower-class family in Russia, and in his youth struggled to break his family out of the cycle of poverty and despair that had held them for generations. He enlisted in the Russian military, taking great pride in his service. His keen mind and determination gave him many opportunities, and he began to gradually rise through the ranks. However, Nicholas, like his more famous cousin Pavel Cossack, struggled with mental illness and addiction as more burdens were placed on his shoulders. When he finally snapped, it was a thing of terrible beauty -- he claimed a UN detachment of Reploids had gone Maverick and took it upon himself to personally retire them. Nicholas was apprehended and institutionalized, and was seemingly on the road to recovery. However, he escaped within six months and went to ground, disappearing for years. Nicholas later resurfaced in Mexico during the robot attacks of 2215, helping to organize bands of Skinners into a counter-insurgency. Elpizo saw Nicholas' potential and brought him into his organization. One of the first e-humans ever created, Sage Harpuia has been molded by Elpizo into a ruthless military commander completely devoted to the cause. He sees robots only as targets to be exterminated, and those who protect and harbor them as traitors to their own race. Many believe that in becoming the embodiment of Elpizo's ideals, Sage Harpuia has destroyed any humanity that he had left. His loyalty to Elpizo, however, is absolute.
