Profile
Ring Man is a smooth-talking, greedy Robot Master. Speaks with the quick, easy banter of a used car salesman. A master sleight of hand artist, he can steal just about any small object that's not nailed down. Hates to do things for nothing, and is constantly looking to make a deal, even with his superiors. This calculating capitalist views all robotic opponents as potential profit from the scrap market, a habit which most of the other Robot Masters find both morbid and barbaric. Adept at using his razor-sharp Ring Boomerangs to strike rapidly at his opponents from various angles; it is believed he has yet to lose a single one, either out of skill or cheapness. He also carries a variety of other rings, including mini rings for stealthy hits and constraining rings for immobilizing targets. Sought after with a vengeance by both friends and enemies who have been victimized by his latest scam. Not very strong, sometimes trapped by his own actions.
Background
Ring Man was built by Wily in 2202. Yeah. He ran around, took stuff from people, and did anything for money. Yes. Even that. I think Bass almost killed him once. Crazy times.
Personality
Despite what everyone in the world believes, Ring Man is not Mr. Greedy McGreedstein. Rather, he is more of a sleazy corporate upstart. He is a sly, scheming robot master, cool and calculating in attitude, cutthroat in nature. Able to kiss ass as long as needed, and then cut it off and serve it on a platter the next. He is a natural liar, able to make anything up on the spot and treat it as an ancient truth. More fascinating is his ability to tell the truth in all this. Reality is highly subjective to Ring Man when it comes to dealing with people.
Outside people, though, Ring Man takes a dangerously objective edge. Ring Man is in a state of constant research and observation, collecting data on people, places, and things. He almost always has a briefcase by his side storing the day's information. He holds countless profiles on various individuals of the world, which he often refers to before acting and interacting with people. He has even taken a habit of video/audio recording such interactions, and replaying them for personal- or business- purposes.
He structures plans and schemes almost as a hobby, and it is unknown how many agendas Ring Man holds. His schemes often are complex and abstract, based around ends instead of means. He enjoys this process, since most of his plans never end up the way he wants them to. When a plan starts going wrong, he simply changes a few goals and details in order to meet the final end he desires. Ring Man, in essence, waters down failure to focus on the success, as minor or different as it is from the original intent. This has it's own flaws, though; Ring Man hates failure with a passion, and when it seems like he cannot succeed, he becomes more and more imbalanced. He has been known to be more genocidal than Skull Man, more paranoid than Dust Man, and even more egomaniacal than Pharaoh Man when it seems like failure is inevitable
Outside business, however, Ring Man takes a completely detached position on the world. He doesn't see any reason why he can't go up to the Hunters and Repliforce members and just shoot the breeze with them, outside business. He isn't above assisting those who are part of enemy factions if assisting them would assist one of his side agendas. In fact, he hopes that such actions would encourage others to act in the same way. He privately hates the negative reputation that the Masters carry, and wishes that in the future, they will have a more positive reputation. If not, at least he, Ring Man, could be seen as the merciful, rational Master that the world could relate to. He hates when other people believe he is going to attack them, despite placing himself off duty. He especially hates the title of 'criminal,' one that is given to him quite often.
Inside the Masters, he has two central goals: Improve his position of power, and improve the Deltas. For the first, he strives to bring success to the organization, and is noted as an eager, active Master who takes on several projects. Ring Man claims to be the 'de facto' leader of the Deltas, and seeks to place himself in leadership positions where he is respected as a leader. One of the things holding him back (and by proxy why he cares about the second goal) is the fact he is a Delta, and Deltas, as quote, "Are relatively dumb in general, and fail a lot." Ring Man hates the stigma he receives from being part of the Deltas, and desires to improve the Deltas on whole. So far, he has been kinda successful. But not very. He is still made fun of by all the other Masters because of the Deltas.
Events
- Took part in a blackmarket auction. When it turned ugly and violent, he stole a crate full of auction gear without being traced. Included a Reaverbot, A container of Chinese nerve gas, an Aussie sapper rifle, and James Houseman IV's wedding ring.
- Teamed up with Prismatic Spider in protecting a San Angeles bank from Sera and Ego. It was for the good of society, not to protect some of his accounts. Honest.
- Assisted Gemini Man in unleashing the Pretty Pony virus in Second Life. He was the Gothic Girl.
- Spied on Blaze Heatnix and Red as a terrorist pretending to be a reporter, and collected a film on her through his recording equipment.
- Met Blaze Heatnix to clear a personal conflict between the robot masters and her. Was ambushed by Red and Blaze Heatnix, and got gangbanged. Got away alive by offering to trade the Houseman Ring for his life. Use his briefcase as collateral.
- Set up to trade the ring for his briefcase with Kraft. Ring Man attempted to capture Kraft with the assistance of Sword Man and Elec Man, but ended up being trounced. Gave up the ring for his and Sword Man's life.
Notes
- Ring Man runs several businesses, and works very hard to avoid traces to them. Most of his hacking abilities is based on controlling his tracks, whether concealing them or redirecting them
- Ring Man is the backer of Toad Man's Big Banana Corp, and is the ringleader of the operation. Toad Man comes up with the porn. Ring Man pays for it.
