Profile
As a bioroid, Ribbon Moth feels particularly in touch with the 'balance' that exists between different competing lifeforms, and that balance is one of the things she finds beautiful about life, nature, and science. There is an order to things. Initially, Ribbon was designed to be a clean and efficient source of power, drawing energy from a hybrid of chemical, mechanical, and biological systems in a way that is optimally possible only in bioroids or cyborgs. After her induction to the Hunters, Ribbon was trained and upgraded to give her better control over chemical processes and organic portions allowing her to synthesize drugs and use the vines that are wrapped around her as whips. They also improved her armor and trained her to defend herself to improve her effectiveness as a generator on the battlefield. However, the trouble with being mostly plant and containing chemicals within her is that fire can wreak havoc on her systems and sufficiently cold temperatures can significantly lower her metabolism, killing the plant portions of her. It should also be noted that disruptions to the 'natural flow and order' of nature increase the stress Ribbon feels in a situation.

Background
Ribbon Moth was created in 2218 by HeraCorp as an energy resource. She was a culmination of various energy production technologies, energy cells, chemical, and photosynthetic. The balance between the three made Ribbon a clean and efficient energy source that demonstrated the abilities that her creators wanted.
Once they determined that Ribbon was capable of acting independently and making intelligent decisions, HeraCorp sent Ribbon to South Africa for seven months, for the reforestation and environmental restoration work that is required of all HeraCorp bioroids. In Africa, Ribbon worked hard to plant, water, and tend to the trees that were in her section of lad. As time progressed and Ribbon learned more, she found that plants are capable of emitting pheromones that encourage the ripening and growth of other plants. It took a little bit of work, but Ribbon soon learned how to produce this pheromone by using a combination of her chemical systems and her biological systems. This development greatly increased the growth in her section.
Another aspect of the required work that was important was its effects on Ribbon Moth's world view. While in the forest, Ribbon saw things that she would like to heal but despite her best efforts, could not. There were also things that she wished did not exist, but still they persisted. Soon it became apparent to her that there were things beyond her control, and that there probably is a time for most things. There is a time to live and a time to die, and while she can do her part to keep something alive, she needs to accept that eventually things need to die. Though some might find this a view that is lacking in hope, Ribbon Moth saw it as a view that contained understanding and acceptance. There was an order and things followed that order.
This order that Ribbon idolized was tested when her time in South Africa was completed at the end of 2218. To celebrate, Ribbon went to Seattle were she enjoyed the rain for a week until news of the bomb in San Angeles reached her. Were all 10 million people supposed to die at this point in time? Was she supposed to stoically accept it? Did the fact it happened justify Gemini Man? All of a sudden, things happening because they were supposed to be happening became a much more gray area.
While she had not figured out the answers to these questions yet, Ribbon did understand one thing, she could not idly sit by if Gemini Man actively did this. Catching the first transport down to San Angeles, Ribbon immediately offered her assistance as a power source in sections that were without power. She helped to power some of the medical equipment in the hospital to keep victims alive and it was during this time that Ribbon sorted through the questions.
Free will and predestination were not mutually exclusive. Gemini Man chose to end those lives needlessly, and she chose to do what she could to save them. It was possible to make a difference by choosing to sow, to heal, and build up, and only when appropriate, to reap, to kill, and to tear down. However, the later are not always necessary and do not necessarily require outside help.
Revitalized with this revelation, Ribbon continued to serve in San Angeles for several months selflessly. She had no need for money since her systems were self-sustaining as most bioroids are, and material things were never of much importance to her. The combination of her dedication, and her ability to help so much in San Angeles attracted the attention of the Hunters.
In August of 2219, the formal invitation was offered. At first, Ribbon was not certain what to make of the offer. She was primarily a power generator and her secondary abilities of chemical manipulation and plant manipulation were not as well developed. She was also not certain of what her roll would be.
Finally, after a week and a half of contemplation, Ribbon Moth agreed to join on the grounds that the Hunters train her for combat and increase her durability some. These were acceptable terms for the Hunters, and she soon found herself going through intense training and a few design upgrades. During all of this, her ability to control the vines of her body increased to the point where she could utilize them as whips. Her chemical abilities increased to the point where she could produce acids, bases, and some simple medications like aspirin and a few antibiotics. Her energy production abilities were increased slightly and stronger armor was installed to better protect the internal generator systems that contained some rather volatile compounds.
