There is no TS allowed on Mega Man MUSH. We have a zero tolerance policy toward that sort of behavior. Please take that sort of thing elsewhere.

With that out of the way: Mega Man MUSH is set in a futuristic version of our world, bringing humans and robots together into the same social reality. Robots (androids, Reploids, etc.), while lacking the biological drives of humans, have the same capability for emotions and desires that humans do. Friendship, enmity, and the many intricate bonds that form between humans are also part of the robotic experience. Emotion is part of being a self-aware, free willed entity, regardless of origin.

We expect that relationships deeper than friendship will form between characters on M3. It has happened before and will probably happen again. We only expect that you, as players, will show courtesy to others and avoid graphic public displays of affection. Uninvolved players are generally uninterested in the depths of your torrid romances. Naturally, there are exceptions under the proper circumstances.

Relationships between humans are generally tolerated or accepted in their various forms in the enlightened nations of this future world. Less tolerated are romantic relationships between humans and robots. While played characters may be very enlightened, the majority of the world's population is generally not very tolerant of human/robot relationships, with reactions ranging from ridicule to more violent forms of bigotry.

Further, Reploids themselves tend to express romantic love in ways which are fundamentally alien to the human experience. As the physical consummation of romantic love is not part of their consciousness, Reploids tend to form intense emotional linkages with each other to fill their need for love and acceptance. Consciousnesses that never require sleep and can stay in contact 24 hours a day through data communications are less understanding of the human need for distance, sleep, or at least a few minutes without conversation.

Reploids also have little practical understanding of human biological drives. Most Reploids have little interest in outward appearance, since it can be changed so radically through upgrades or other customization processes. Human sexuality tends to be, at best, boring for most robots. (Robot Masters, due to their creator's madness, tend to have the mentality of frat boys -- but it's all talk and little action.)

Conversely, Reploids can experience each other in ways which human beings cannot completely understand through direct data connections. Even full-conversion cyborgs can only experience a fraction of what Reploids can due to the accelerated nature of the Reploid core. Love between two (or more!) Reploids is a thing of intense and terrible beauty, beyond even the most idealized human understanding of true love. With their near-immortality, this passion could potentially be sustained for decades, centuries, or even longer. Human love, by comparison, is transient.

And there are the stories, of course, of Reploid lovers spurned by their former human partners, driven to obsessive lengths to rekindle that connection. Most are said to go Maverick to avenge their wounded hearts. There is little proof of this, yet, but this is because these relationships are still too rare to be anything more than ancedotal.
