Character Data
Red is the Commander of Red Alert and he is currently identified as the patriarch of the 'Good' Gatebots. Typically makes calls on what the Gatebots should do in different situations if they ask him. The only place where he really pushes this card is when he is in Red Alert. That's when it counts.
Profile
A competent and self-assured mercenary Reploid, Red has never been one to do things alone. Preferring the setup of a small team to solo work, Red Alert is his pride and joy, each member of the team specializing in one field or another. Well-spoken, if not the most charismatic of people, Red is an expert planner and enjoys crafting strategies that allow each member of his team to shine. An expert organizer and peacemaker, he is the linchpin that holds Red Alert together, and he is dedicated enough to make even Flame Hyenard work as part of the team. Truly unbiased, he sees no Reploid as being less than any other, and is proud to have misfits and miscreants on his team. Able to cast limited projections of himself, a system first tested in Flame Hyenard, Red is as much a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield as he is in the planning room, though it's in tactics that he truly shines, and he loves it when a plan comes together.
Background
Red was built by Professor Gate as the leader of his spurts of reploids that would spontaneously come out of the Professor reploid. Designed to be the ultimate small-teams leader, Red tends to lean towards leading a small group. He has been known to devote himself to the mission despite outside factors, and he shows a tendency to be on the reckless side. For example, the debut of the Red Alert team forced him to make a rather hefty decision: get them into the Mavericks to destroy the Dino Tank. As the mission progressed he had to do things that he really does not like to reflect upon, but he definately does not regret the fruits of those actions. He dealt a blow to the Mavericks that cannot be forgotten.
When Red Alert was signed on with the Repliforce, Red was rather leery on the whole idea at first. They wanted to make him a commander of a large squad, but with some finagling he was able to get what he wanted: to only lead his special Red Alert team. With his team, he is able to accomplish the many tasks set before him, and his open door policy with his 'siblings' has made him the best leader for Red Alert. He cares for his 'family' and would go through thick and thin with them, and he would trust them until the ends of the earth.
Who is Red?
Red is certainly a badass. His charisma does not come from the rousing speeches he can create, but rather the actions he does. The aura that follows this reploid is the 'this is one bad motha', but he is not arrogant about it. He knows that he is good, but he knows that a real leader does not flaunt it around. He hopes to use his awesome skills to inspire those around him. Particulary the Red Alert team.
Red has no qualms with having misfits in his Red Alert team. In fact, he encourages his team mates to be themselves, because if one is not themself then the team will fail. Each and every single one of his siblings has a part to play that can only be realized through the true actions of their respective personalities. Even if someone does not show their true colors, he still feels he can utilize them to the fullest. He's just that optimistic over things. Red has also been known to be considered reckless in how he leads. He does not sit around debating on how to do things. He just says 'here's what we need done, and THIS is how I am going to do it' there is no buerocratics with Red. If it needs done, it gets done. Sometimes to the chagrin of the upper echelons of Repliforce, but his record keeps him in good standing with them because he seems to be the only one who can really keep Red Alert in check. He has a strange respect amongst his siblings, and some are lead to speculate that he has this respect because Gate built it in them. However, they have also noted that other more 'brash' reploids are drawn to Red. He just has this chaotic personality that makes him one of the best small teams leaders that the Repliforce has today.
Red's reckless way of doing things is also considered where one of his flaws might be. He acts fast and thinks about it later. This has led to put him in some situations where thinking about it would have avoided the entire situation. However, Red likes to follows his gut feeling than actual experience, sometimes. These sorts of on-the-fly decisions are probably the best decisions he has ever made. In fact, when he was told he was to infiltrate the Mavericks to destroy the Dino Tank, he had absolutely no idea on how he would do that. He just flew off the seat of his pants. Besides, he has Wind Crow to do all the thinking for him, when he does not want to do it.
What Red Believes
Red is in the Repliforce because he found that he could get the best resources for his team that way. Despite the fact of the appealing nature of the Hunters for his chaotic personality, he felt that his team would work best in the Repliforce. It's not that he has anything against the Hunters, in fact he likes to talk with most of the people there, it is just that the people in his team need the resources that can be provided more readily by the Repliforce(money for booze).
Red's position in the Repliforce puts him at a little odds with somethings. He knows that he is in charge of most of the grunts in the army, but he just does not like having that much power. He likes to pride himself on being only in charge of Repliforce's special team, Red-Alert not most of the army. He has been known to give orders to the rest of the army when the situation demands it, he leaves it to Wind Crow to boss everyone else around. He's just there to lead his team and occassionally contribute to High Command. He has a respect for Colonel because he has seen the battle prowess exhibited by the Cape. There is no question on how much power Colonel wields in the Repliforce. The only thing that Red has a problem with Colonel is how strict of a leader the Cape is. Red will follow orders from Colonel, but if it is something he does not approve of he'll definately speak his mind about it. He's a damn war hero and they will do well to at least listen to him when he has a problem with strict command.
It's a known fact that Red does not know General that well. They have kept a mostly social basis sort of relationship and Red feels a little at odd ends when he is confronted by the large Repliforce leader. He does not have a problem with speaking his mind, but the sort of respect he holds for General is that it is General's signature that goes on his paychecks and there is a certain phrase that tells him he should not bite the hand that feeds him.
Red has a certain affinity for the chaotic nature of the Hunters. It's not a hidden fact that Red heavily considered signing on the with Hunters before the Repliforce. Mega Man and his crew hold a great seat of respect and trust with Red. He knows a good reploid or person when he sees one and those in the Hunters definately qualify for that. Red also has a strange affinity for taking rookies underneath his wing which also lends him to be more of a Repliforcer than a Hunter. Rookies in the Hunters are very few and far between, while in the Repliforce rookies run amok in their natural habitat.
Red holds a special disdain for the Mavericks. He would much rather see them impaled on the end of his scythe than work with them willingly again. The way that they discriminate and despise a sect of people upsets Red to a degree and he would sooner kill one than work with one. However, because of Red's indifferent nature, he does have a knack for trying to earn second chances for 'cured' Mavericks. He has some supernatural ability to discern if one is truly changed or is just trying to pull a fast one. They say it takes one, to know one.
Neo Arcadians have basically the same attitude from Red as he holds with the Mavericks. It's nothing really that different except they are human and potentially more dangerous because you can't guess when a human will snap. Robot Masters on the other hand are just loose cannons that need to be put down when the time calls.
Trivia/Facts
- Red beat up Hi-Max and called him ugly, once.
- Red's eye was taken by the reploid demon Ashriel, in a pitched battle.
- Both Hi-Max and Red share the same exact design of neural net. One could say Red is Hi-Max version two.
- Red is an asshole. He's arrogant, and does not care if you feel as though you can't depend on him. He has Red Alert for that.
Other
Strength: Subject is a natural leader and a solid combatant. He was capable of extracting information from Gigabolt Man-O-War concerning the location of the Raptor II. Although the information has not been proven accurate, it seems likely. Subject was also capable of swallowing his pride and delivering an apology for prior actions.
Weaknesses: Subject is among the worst officers in the Repliforce in terms of temper, loyalties, and military discipline. He is a poor example of someone who is among those technically fourth in command of the Repliforce. His loyalty to his comrades outweighs those of his allies. A recent example would be that he and I nearly shot each other after my questioning of Wind Crow. Subject has also been implicated in the various secrets Prismatic Spider-operated operations of late, however this is primarily due to Wind Crow's involvement. His Red Alert walks a fine line between loyalty to Repliforce and actively disrupting it.
For Christmas, I accept your apology. As in your words, I hope we can pave a way that would improve our peer to peer relationship. Note I consider your present the best that I have given.
