Profile
Quick Man is built for speed. He moves fast, talks fast, and lives fast. Able to run at speeds exceeding the sound barrier and move faster than the average human or reploid eye can perceive, Quick Man is a formidable combatant, and he knows it. Insufferably arrogant, he considers himself at the very pinnacle of Wily's army of Robot Masters, to the point where he actively seeks to disassociate himself with those among his brothers whom he considers less proficient. Although he recognizes that the Elites, especially Bass, are superior to him in power and rank, he still considers himself superior to all humans (with the notable exception of Albert Wily), all Reploids, and most androids. His style of operation tends to be noisy and attention-grabbing. Quick Man loves nothing more than to be the apple of the camera's eye, and will often go out of his way to make simple operations as eye-grabbing as possible, usually through excessive violence. Quick Man favors a policy of brutal extermination for the enemies of Wily, and often acts on his own whims unless directly ordered otherwise. His biggest flaw is his perceived invulnerability: he will often leap before he looks, assuming he cannot lose, only to find out later that he was sadly mistaken.
Background and Traits
Quick Man is one of the first robots built solely by Dr. Wily, and is arguably one of the best. (He'll say he's the best, but other people like to argue). Although moderately effective in the first part of the war, Quick Man began stepping up several years ago when a series of upgrades began to add deadly striking power to his already impossible speed and agility. More and more convinced of his own superiority, even in the face of 'facts' that claim otherwise, Quick Man began attempting more ambitious schemes and operations. His over-inflated opinion of himself leads him to prefer working alone rather than let other people 'weigh him down', although he does often seek to ally himself with certain people amongst his own faction and others that he has learned make good partners. He loves attention, for being praised justifies his high self-opinion. To him, fear/condemnation from enemies is just as good as praise from his allies, and so Quick Man often goes over the top to make his operations as violent and upsetting as possible to his enemies. Plus, he just enjoys killing people. Although he can be downright friendly even to his enemies if the mood strikes him, his mercurial personality can shift from pally to psychotic in an instant, and there's almost no one he won't screw over for advantage, or just a laugh. This type of behavior leads him to be one of the Robot Masters about whom public opinion is most divided, as those among the general populace who have no experience with him or are generally twisted tend to be attracted to his good looks and flashy style, but those who have been effected by his schemes or know what he is capable of tend to revile him completely.
Trivia/Facts
- Quick Man's past involves such embarrassing events as cross-dressing and making out with several of his brothers for reasons that remain unclear.
- Quick Man once fronted a band composed of Robot Masters called "Masters of Rock", whose first self-titled album went gold (although a disproportionate amount of the sales were in territories Wily controlled at the time). Quick Man played guitar and sang.
- Quick Man has personally saved Dr. Wily's life at least four times.
- Quick Man's newest weapon, the Quick Shot Cannon, was built by Wily but was commissioned by Bass after Quick called in a favor he was owed for assisting in one of Bass' personal projects.
- Quick Man and Shadow Man have developed a personal form of sign language they use to communicate silently, since both is capable of moving their hands at speeds imperceptible to most other humans and robots.
- Quick Man won three gold medals in a single Battle and Chase, for the Foot Race, the Obstacle Course, and the Dodgeball Tournament, in which he was teamed with Shadow Man and Bass.
