Profile
With entrances often accompanied by salty sea chanteys, Pirate Man seems to be a rather unusual Robot Master. The embodiment of all things cliché about pirates, he is a ruthless, crafty, adventure-seeking, sea-sailing, loot-loving, grog-quaffing robot pirate, often searching for the next victim to walk the plank. There is little he enjoys more than a good old-fashioned plundering, but he often tries to run off with the most valuable-looking treasures to either stash in his personal collection of booty, or to bury for reasons that few seem to understand. Capable of surviving extreme depths without taking any structural damage, he is known to occupy himself for hours by searching bodies of water for anything even vaguely resembling treasure. In combat, Pirate Man is a dangerous foe. Armed with classic pirate equipment, he fights with a flintlock pistol, a cutlass, and numerous other tools of the trade. Mounted on his left arm is a cannon capable of firing anything from standard cannon balls to harpoons to several kinds of explosives, including his oddly unpiratical specialty, the Remote Mine. This projectile explosive can latch on to most solid objects and surfaces, and detonates with a fairly localized, albeit powerful, blast at Pirate Man's desire. Pirate Man is also able to surround himself in a bubble-like forcefield, with which he can smash into opponents at full speed without harm. With a lust for excitement that tends to put his unprepared comrades at risk, Pirate Man is often among the first to charge into action in hopes of finding adventure or booty, whether it be foolhardy or not.
Background
Pirate Man was created by Dr. Wily as part of King's Court, which will supposedly be the ruling party when Wily dies. He was modelled after the cliché pirate because pirates are awesome and the idea hadn't been done yet, and also it served as an excuse to build a huge flying pirate ship. Some say that Wily also wanted to create a rival for Shadow Man to keep him in check, but so far, all rumours indicative of this have been falsified.
Personality
Pirate has an overwhelming need for aquistion of property and money that's not his. Everything he does is motivated by either greed, or freedom. When told he can't do something, it will be his primary motivation to do that thing. Nothing is taboo, nothing is forbidden, and there is absolutely no material posession that can't be his.
In order to make room for more booty, Pirate is extravagant in his expenses, spending gold and jewels as fast as he gets them in the gaudiest or hedonistic way possible.
