Profile
Pallette is an inquisitive, effervescent Reploid whose cheerful personality and strong work ethic have made her a welcome addition to the Maverick Hunter team. While she tends to be something of a snoop, Pallette tries to avoid the temptation to be gossipy. Her desire not to be a gossip is constantly at war with her powerful longing to help people with their problems. Far from shy, Layer is often perplexed and embarrassed by Pallette's direct and unapologetic approach to life. An unorthodox thinker, Pallette is well suited to dealing with the bizarre security measures of the Robot Masters and other mad scientist organizations. She has the consummate liberal arts education, but also has hard science experience with multiple degrees in geology and structural engineering. Pallette has an onboard scanning suite contained within her 'hair' that can penetrate most attempts at concealment with ease. Before joining the Hunters, Pallette and her older sister Layer were operators at Troia Base in Great Britain, and earned acclaim there for their rapid response to Maverick raids.
Background
Pallette was created as part of a pair of Reploids designed to work within England's Reploid-training Troia Base, as both an operator and a defense Reploid should the base be attacked. Pallette was the ranged-attack half of the pair, and was also responsible for monitoring the base for structural integrity flaws. She also apparently had some minor tendencies towards weapon invention, but not on par with, say, Durandal or Dr. Cossack. Pallette was the more inventive of the two, the 'scientist,' as well as the more outgoing one; she was designed to find problems, and solve them.
However, the attack that finally came to Troia Base came from within. Optic Sunflower, a spacebound Reploid who worked largely with solar collectors, went berserk one day when brought back to Troia for maintenance. In doing so, he opened the base's defenses to Maverick attack and joined in the assault himself. Pallette and Layer fought off the Maverick attackers, using ingenuity, traps, base defenses, and their own abilities until backup (from the Hunters) could arrive.
After joining the Hunters, Pallette integrated herself into the team quickly, finding while her secondary niche (operator) was largely filled, her primary skillset (structural analysis and flaw-finding) were definitely in need - as well as some other minor tasks, such as combat support and enemy infiltration. Pallette's lively personality has made her a valuable part of the Hunters, liked by most Hunters save those for whom a cheerful personality is simply grating.
