Character Data

"What good is humanity? Being human is nothing more than being out of touch with the times."

Profile

Born human, Christopher Matheson has done his best to cover up that unfortunate fact with as many cybernetic upgrades and enhancements as he can get his hands on. He joined the Mavericks recently and willingly: at the simple promise of getting better equipment to upgrade his already tricked-out cybernetic body, and, because of a geniune dissatisfaction with the entire, low-tech human race. His enthusiasm for cybernetics has gotten him recognition among the ranks of the Maverick medics, but it's hard to keep this violence-prone young adult off the battlefield. He's made it a personal goal to convert as many former humans to cyborgs, and then, the Maverick cause, as he can get his upgraded hands on. If the human won't convert willingly, of course, biomass has other medical uses in his increasingly twisted experiments on the worthless parts of human bodies, and brains. Combat, to him, is like the coolest of the olympic sports, and technology is just the number one way to make things bigger, better, and faster. His obsession with upgrading humanity is rivaled only by his obsession with upgrading his own output, which earned him the codename Overclock. His systems make him powerful for a cyborg, but have the unfortunate tendancy to overheat or just plain lock up at the wrong time.

Background

2197 - Born, Christopher Matheson, in the city of Detroit, MI.

2210 - Christopher's father dies, due to complications related to smoke inhalation. Leaves behind wife and only son. Chris's mother moves out of the main city to an area slightly less polluted, concerned about her health and that of her child.

2212 - Chris is involved, but not at-fault, in a drunk driving accident. The driver dies, and Chris loses the use of both legs.

2213 - Insurance money covers an operation to replace the young man's legs with crude cybernetic replacements.

2214 - A promising tech student with accelerated ability, Chris learns quickly how to do upgrades on his own systems, and begins experiments in boosting his own output.

2215 - Chris begins advanced education in the field of cybernetic research. That same year, Chris loses both arms, above the elbows, in a lab accident involving a rotary energy saw. The circiumstances were highly suspicious.

2217 - Now with boosted and accelerated cybernetic arms, Chris accidentally kills own mother during a heated argument. Having gone quite mad by this point due to the changes in his body and his chemistry, Chris becomes a Maverick partially to flee retribution for this crime, but mainly to continue to feed his obsession with cybernetic bodies.
