"Is this the justice you have fought for?"
Joanna Neige thought her days of activism were behind her. She grew up as a radicalized student in Paris, facing tear gas and water cannons to protest the UN's mechanized war machine and the seemingly endless robotic warfare. Bright and insightful, she earned a scholarship to Oxford, where she met a young James Houseman V. Neige's initial hostility to him faded as she got to know James in her various classes, and for a while they were an item. However, in the end she left him to pursue her dreams as a critical journalist, and James became a successful corporate banker. But unlike James, success did not come so easily for her, and she ultimately found herself working the society beat just to get by. She seemed doomed to a life of mediocrity, but James' suffering, and his incredible passion in pursuing justice, awoke old feelings within her...for journalism, and perhaps for James too. Today, Neige pursues social justice with renewed vigor, optimistic that the world can change if people only work hard enough. Her optimism is tempered by her acceptance of the realities of the world. Its an ugly place, and ugly things have and will happen. However, she refuses to give up, even in the face of overwhelming obstacles. Sometimes this makes her come across imperiously, but we all need to make sacrifices for justice.

Joanna Neige was born to two loving parents in 2194; and growing up, she had a fairly normal and uneventful childhood.
This was good, considering the political turmoil that was going on -- and she grew up along with the Robot Wars even as she went to school; for such a young girl, she showed much interest in the news and what was going on around the world. Her eyes were open ... but it wasn't until her early teens that she gained further insights into the problem. Why, after all of these years, hadn't Wily finally been locked up even with all of the chances? Why was there no progress? Why did the UN allow this to continue?
She wanted to do something about it -- she knew that, while force was a good way to go about this, she was simply not physically powerful like the reploids. There were other avenues ... journalism, and protesting. The written word and peaceful action were powerful things. Quickly she grew further and further involved during her later teens in organized protests against the continuing war, facing a barrage from authorities with fearlessness. Luckily for her and thanks to her hard work, a single letter she found in her mailbox changed her life forwever -- a scholarship to Oxford university.
Farewells were given to friends and family and Neige travelled to England, where she acclimated well enough and attended university. This was, yet again, where her life changed -- and it started, innocently enough, with throwing paint on the young James' leather jacket out of protest to animal cruelty. She ran into him a few more times, each with further vitrol against him ... but as time passed, and they saw each other in classes and in the halls, her hostility was slowly tempered. She even grew to admire his personality; the two dated for a while, but ultimately, there was really only one thing Neige wanted in life -- journalism, and the pursuit of justice.
Despite graduating successfully, Neige herself seemed to flounder about in search of work; she wrote various articles in English newspapers, incensed further by events going on in the world -- but ultimately, she didn't fare quite as well as she used to. After a while, she had stuck with GNN under the guise of Joanna Snow but soon grew dissatisfied with it. Yet, for some reason, perhaps out of hope, she stuck with it and got back in touch with James himself, who appeared to be trying to help her by agreeing to interviews.
Her opinion changed when she was held in an undisclosed location with the mad Maverick formerly known as Javelin Whitetail; she stayed solely to get the best story -- and she got one, when James, under the new name of Kraft, came to the rescue and put the reploid out of her misery. The two had a heated argument -- her head was full of thoughts, about the arrest ... about the GNN, about remaining true to herself.
Neige had resigned from the GNN and now, inspired by Kraft, continues on her search for justice.
Trivia/Facts
- Neige's real hair color is red-brown. It was genetically dyed a bright neon red during her college days.
- The energy pistol that she carries around can be converted into a camera by means of a few attachments. It also explains why the flash is horribly bright.
- Though she has a small apartment in London, Neige really doesn't live in it. She usually travels around the world in her trusty truck, camping in spots and getting close to the battlefield. When asked if it's uncomfortable, she says that she doesn't mind.
- Neige knows some martial arts. It's mostly limited to throw techniques. She prefers to stun or shoot, and is in no way a professional fighter.
