Profile
Mr. Match is many things to many people. He is believed to have been a Black SHIELD operative until the collapse of the organization in 2217. During his time in the organization, Match worked for almost every major intelligence agency and several megacorporations as a spy or saboteur. Since then, he has continued his mercenary ways, working for the highest bidder. Often, Mr. Match finds himself working for multiple organizations at once, often at cross-purposes. A master of disguise, Mr. Match has a savant-like ability to quickly learn any necessary skills to maintain his cover by observation and preternatural processing of written information. The same neurological anomaly that gives him these gifts has also prevented Mr. Match from being able to experience shame or remorse, which is useful in his line of work. His lack of empathy (aside from illusory empathy he creates for his guises) has traditionally isolated him from others, enabling him to effortlessly arrange multiple betrayals to maximize his own benefits. Outside of missions, Mr. Match is generally thought of as being a heartless, sarcastic bastard whose familiar manner of speech with others tends to grate on people. His nom de guerre comes from his great fascination with fire and pyro effects. Arson is his favorite type of mission, as it allows him to create elaborate canvases of flame.
