Profile
Born Albrecht Steinhauer, the Monolith is a bit of a tragedy. He was mortally wounded in the Battle of Berlin, and his family gave him to Umbrella in the hopes that their work on him could save lives. They never expected to see him again, and mourned for him as dead. It is true, Albrecht Steinhauer, the Berlin toymaker, is dead. In his place, Umbrella has created a huge monster, a gray-tinted beast covered in light hair, with viciously sharp teeth and an animal temper. His mind has regressed, due to his treatments, and he is rather childlike...full of wonder, innocence and happiness...until combat starts. Then the Monolith, as his project was called, becomes lost in the pleasure of breaking things, especially robots, whom he subconsciously blames for his state. He also likes hats.

Trivia/Facts
- Monolith was trained via negative reinforcement via certain frequencies, and attacks utilizing those frequencies will reduce him to cowering and covering his ears. Loud noises can do the same at times, due to tweaks in his hearing.
- Monolith has been promoted higher than any UCBS member of Umbrella.
- Monolith has a surprisingly high success record, and is surprisingly good at woodcarving.
- Monolith adores Maddy, who was kind to him in Willamette.
- Monolith was on a vendetta against the Hunters, as revenge for Alia hurting Maddy, amassing a collection of (somewhat exaggerated) hits on the faction.
- Monolith has stolen Captain Beard's pirate hat, for the purpose of giving to Pig.
- Monolith helped fight Omega in the strange final universe of Cyber X. He took the remains of Elpizo's Dark Kanissa armor, and fashioned it into a suit for Pig.
- Monolith was purchased, along with all of his hats, by Daryn from Albert Wesker for 10 million zenny.
- Monolith takes his orders from, in order of precedence: Dr. Regal, Daryn and Maddy, and then the rest of Grave or Nebula.
- Monolith has been getting steadily more socially intelligent due to the company he keeps, and is now capable of understanding preteen television and complex radio banter.
Other
Monolith possesses extremely sensitive senses - his hearing is capable of determining minute changes in volume or pitch, although this does lead to a hatred of loud noises near his head. His eyesight is somewhat better than that of a human being's, effectively about 20/15. However, he truly shines in the area of scent, possessing an extremely sensitive nose able to distinguish easily between various scents, recognize individuals by their scent and track people by the trail they leave of smells. He also has a large vomeronasal organ, allowing him to distinguish between chemical compounds by scent - even those that have no perceptible scent to human beings.
