Overview

Magrevich Industries was founded in 2150 by Harold Magrevich in Munich, Germany. Harold and his closest friends from college founded the company based around a collection of anti-gravity drive patents, and the company has gradually expanded into producing a variety of high-energy devices. They also have a small, elite military technology unit that develops power armors and other armored vehicles for governments and corporate clients worldwide. Mostly people know about them for making generators, repulsor systems and various widgets involved with high-end holography. Fancy, but not as glamorous as some of the other military contractors in their sphere.

Magrevich Industries is beloved by stock analysts. They pay reasonable dividends but plow a lot of profits back into research and development. Their debts are low and their credit rating is very good. MI is a model of good corporate governance and regularly wins awards from auditing firms for having clean, well organized accounts.

Magrevich Industries is involved in a variety of charitable projects. They have given generously to efforts to rebuild Europe, particularly to save or restore items of fine art or important archetectural sites. MI has given a lot of money to the Vatican to help preserve the great art treasures held by the Church, and gives its people a certain amount of paid time every year to engage in work for charities on behalf of the company (for awesome tax writeoffs). They get the occasional award for good corporate citizenship these days.

Magrevich Industries is not without problems. In the past, MI was tangled up in the aftermath of the Black SHIELD coup, as Harold Magrevich was apparently profiteering off of Houseman's schemes. Harold got away with a fine but wasn't otherwise punished very much. A lot of these "good citizenship" initiatives are a product of the last few years, though arguably its major involvement in Europe's cleanup couldn't have happened until the Mavericks were defeated.

Governance

Gaus Magrevich is the current CEO of Magrevich Industries. Gaus succeeded his late father, Harold, after a brief succession battle between himself, his daughter Teresa Magrevich, and his mother Leona Henshall-Magrevich.

Teresa Magrevich is the head of R&D for Magrevich Industries. Her role is primarily to provide managerial oversight to the ongoing research projects of the company, deal with the greater scientific community, and do technical review of large-scale projects. A small portion of her duties also include oversight of Magrevich Industries' charitable work.

They also have a small, elite military technology unit that develops power armors and other armored vehicles for governments and corporate clients worldwide. The Magrevich Industries Building

The Magrevich Industries tower is 90 stories high, though only about 86 of them are usable space. The last four floors are pure atrium space designed for the pleasure of the wealthy and famous, overlooking all of Rio. There are two sets of elevators. One serves 1-60, which consists of general MI office space, other commercial properties and some residential housing. The next serves 61-85 and is secured by a keycard, as it leads to more secure MI space, the executive suites and the fancy atrium.

The skyscraper is a twisting spire in the older 21st century style, rising to a narrower peak with a wider base. At the upper quarter, the structure partially divides into a horseshoe-like shape. In the evenings, this segment is lit with a cheerful rose-colored hue with two bright white points at the very top, making it look like there is an old-style magnet on the roof.

Immediately around the tower is a well groomed office campus, with benches and a small park. At the center is a work of corporate art, also featuring the horseshoe-shaped magnet; this one is the size of a small car, and is set diagonally on a pedestal. It rotates slowly, making one full revolution every day.
