Character Data

Magna Centipede is considered one of the most dangerous individuals to have ever been employed by the Mavericks. The reploid is wanted for several accounts of arson, assasinations, murder, and a general menace to civilized society. He has been known to be EXTREMELY dangerous, backstabbing, and generally a dirty fighter.

Profile

Magna Centipede was originally built to work in an underground processing plant, using his magnetic feet and multiple limbs to work in confined spaces. However, he quickly grew appalled with his work, finding it a waste of his talents. He also grew hateful towards the society that had built him. He began to study the art of ninjitsu, and made contacts within Sigma's army. When he felt he was ready he returned to his work, and went on a rampage that left fifty-two Reploids and fourteen humans dead, plus destroying millions of dollars' worth of equipment. An extraordinarily dangerous Maverick, his skill is matched only by his arrogance. In addition to clinging magnetic legs, Magna Centipede carries his trademark Magnet Mines, explosive devices which home in and attach to their target using tight-beam magnetic pull.

Background

Magna Centipede was one of the many first reploids to join Sigma's cause. Magna was built by a Middle East reploid company, and thus carries the mannerisms of a polite but ruthless Middle East male. He began his originally simple life in an underground mining facility that worked with another processing plant not a few feet away. He was just an employed number for a company whose name Magna never knew. Treatment was very harsh, because the company did not treat Magna as a person but rather as a valuable company asset. Magna's ability to manipulate magnetics, use explosives with this ability, and his many appendages was a major boon to the company, but they never recognized Magna as a person. Only as 'a good machine'.

Eventually, Magna Centipede grew tired with the incessant marginalizing, and thus began a long plot to bring the company into ruin. During his off time, Magna began training in the human art of ninjitsu. The company was owned by humans, so why not kill them with something they invented? That was Magna's train of thought. When he told other reploids of his plan, they scoffed and told him he was crazy. He kept on persisting, which led to the eventual humiliation of Magna. This act of mocking was the thing that sealed the fate of fifty-two reploids at Magna's place of employment. They would all die, along with the fourteen human executives that led the entire operation beneath the surface of the earth.

Time was on Magna's side, and he began the long, tedious, but carefully planned operation. At least a year passed by for everything to be perfectly in place. Magna could wait as many years, as he had arms for the right moment. His patience was eventually paid off, the time finally came when he could extract his much needed revenge upon those who have belittled him. He struck in the middle of the night, when all the reploids and humans were on a break. They were a twenty-four hour company, so they had quarters for employees to rest in.

The first to go were the humans. They were the easiest, and most quiet to kill. It just took a simple disconnection of the spinal cord, and the fleshies were dead... Next came the other reploids. There could be no survivors. With the ninjitsu training Magna spent so much time on, he quietly executed all fifty-two of the reploids employed there. Everyone was eliminated within two hours. That left another four hours until there were checks made into the progress of the plant and mine. Magna Centipede took this time to sabotage and destroy thousands of zennies worth of equipment. The mission was a complete success, and there were no more witnesses. The security cameras were already taken care of, and no one could ever see the Centipede ever again...

The only reason he is vaguely suspected of being involved in the massacre is because he was the only one not counted amoung the bodies.

It was after this cunning execution of these humans and reploids where Magna began thinking of himself as a god. He could not be caught for any wrong, and he had no remorse for what he did. Before he initiated the last phase of his plan, he left Sigma a cryptic message to look for his call sign. There would be sixty-six dead, and he would be waiting on Sigma's call.

Who is Magna Centipede?

Magna Centipede is an arrogant reploid. Much like his Middle East creators, he views himself as a better reploid and barely even knowledges his comrades' abilities when it is not necessary. Magna despises idle chatter. He believes it nutures the very notion that people are smart. People are never smart. It is the sole person who can make all the difference in world. A smart /person/ uses the people to gain his own goals, and only trusts a select few. Trust is something that is stupid to have given freely. It is something that must be kept frugal, and when given, the person receiving it must be willing to die for it. At least, that is how Magna looks at it.

The only way to get Magna to open up is if it requires him to report to his superiors/Sigma. He will treat his superiors with a respect. But,unless Sigma shows him otherwise, they are not to be trusted. He has not trusted anyone ever since he began his first mission to eradicate the human scum from the farce of a job he used to work at.

Magna regards other people as mere tools to get to a given point. If they do not have a use, they are either potential threats, cannon fodder, or scenery. Magna would very much prefer avoid social contact with people. Humans especially. Reploids are tolerable if they are enlightened by Sigma's knowledge (the Sigma Virus); if they are not enlightened by it, then they obviously are not ready for the new reploid world order.

Cyborgs are barely tolerated. They are just hopeless individuals that are clinging to whatever will keep them alive. Magna holds no respect for them; the only reason why Magna does not torment them needlessly is because Sigma says to treat them with courtesy. However, if the opportunity presents itself, it does not mean he will remain civil.

What do you mean to Magna Centipede?

Magna Centipede is in the Mavericks because they best suit his goals of a new reploid world order. He also enjoys the fact that he can use his less-than-honorable methods to acheive any objective. He looks up to Sigma as the figurehead of all reploid rights, and stands firmly behind him. It has been said that he has told Sigma (there was no recording, as Magna is very particular about people hearing his voice) that if the Emperor ever needs anything accomplished that is on the darker side, that he should look no further than his shadow, because the Centipede will be there.

Even with his own factionmates, Magna rarely opens up with personal feelings. He is more accustomed to being short, sweet, and to the point. To let one know about your innermost thoughts is a way to be identified, and Magna does not think anyone should be able to identify him casually. He listens to radio, as it is a very viable source of information, but he refuses to speak on it. He'll let the others act like idiots while he calculates his next move.

What happened to Magna Centipede?

The death of Emperor Sigma is perhaps why Magna Centipede disappeared for a few months. He always suspected with the introduction of the new Sigma Virus that perhaps his resurrected savior was not all right. Doppler is human and he could have just fashioned a Sigma in order to save his hide. When it was confirmed that Sigma was dead and destroyed by other sources, Magna set out to MAKE SURE he was dead. He would not finish the job, but he certainly would like to know for sure that his leader was dead, because if he was he would like him to stay that way. The Coalition's cause does not need insane reploids leading it (although on a personal level Magna feels a little saddened - an alien emotion - that his leader had to go in such a way).

When Sigma died at the hands of Blues all those years ago, Magna now believes that was the time in which the real Sigma died. Magna now has a grudging if slightly fearful respect of Lumine. He has the right ideals, although Lumine's eccentric personality irritates the ninjapede. However, if anyone talks bad about Lumine, he would be quick to silence them and make sure they never spoke of such ever again. There WILL be unity within the cause. There will be no more squabbles, and all who disagree will meet an untimely death in Magna's vision.

Trivia/Facts

  • Truth be told, Magna does not like to be called a ninja. He thinks it is a poor classification of what his true abilities are.
  • People have the misconception that Magna is a quiet ninja. Granted, he's not obnoxious, but he is exceedingly arrogant and is very capable of falling into hubris.
  • There is one thing that you do not want to do: harm his protégé, Siren. It has been known to elicit great anger from the ninjapede and he is apt to kill you on a whim.
  • Magna likes to think he can get inside the Maverick Hunter Nana's head. He still prides himself on being able to goad her into a trap.
  • Magna Centipede DOES NOT like Overclock, the new ranking cyborg in the Mavericks. It has been common rumor that the ninjapede would sooner save a human than save Overclock, but rumors are rumors after all.
