Profile

Sometimes, you have to break a few legs to get what you want.

The head of the powerful and feared Loath crime family, Lex is the longest living and most notorious mob boss in the world. Having inherited his entire fortune, Lex is a lover of money and a big spender, enjoying all the excesses of the rich life. He retains it all through numerous criminal escapades, from simple extortion and fraud to piracy, slavery, and drug trafficking. Ruthless and greedy, Lex rules his minions by force, not charisma, and keeps those that disobey him in line with theats of violence or death. Highly intelligent, Lex mostly employs his mind to new plans to gain more profit and power, making sure he has a hand in every venture that looks like a money-maker to him, and he bears no sense of honor whatsoever; lying and cheating are some of his best weapons. He often entertains dreams of conquering the world that are mostly delusional, and has become more paranoid over the years, feeling invincible one day and fearing his capture and imprisonment the next. Luckily Lex has plenty of protection from prosecution that allows him to avoid law enforcement agents who are unable to pin a crime on him. Despite having gained cybernetics after a near-fatal car accident, Lex is notably not capable of fighting at all, preferring to leave that to his henchmen or even a power armor when his life is actual threatened. He has a mild disgust for his nephew Glyde's flamboyant attitude, but nonetheless keeps him as a high-ranking underling. He utilizes the Loath's personal drones, the crude and annoying Birdbots, who share his love of fine cigars.

Background

Lex Loath was born into the rich Loath crime family, immediately making him heir to all the riches and territory in the family name. The Loath's were long-time allies of the Yakuza, maintaining a tidy presence in the United States, Italy and the surrounding islands of Sardinia and Sicily.

When the time finally came and Lex entered power, he immediately took to eliminating most of his enemies and some members of the family who would present a threat to his rule. This included the father of his nephew Glyde Loath, with Lex burning down the entire mansion. He took Glyde under his wing, feeling he would one day need an underboss for his enterprises. Once the bloody killings were over, Lex expanded his family's operations and reinforced ties with the Yakuza. He enlisted the help of the Bonnes and the Red Dragon Striders in his escapades, often using the former for his most dirty work.

Lex enjoyed relative security from the forces of good for a long time, enjoying the high life and snagging many trophy wives and putting on airs for his legitimate businesses, until Mikage's assassination and the sudden collapse of the Yakuza network snapped him out of his comfortable reverie. However, he was safe from any real harm thanks to some quick decisions, and ultimately it seemed he was the only old guard that was left. He quickly deemed the new leader Sera a suitable replacement and trusted her leadership, allying once more with the smaller Yakuza.

Lex's biggest operation to date was the purchasing of the old Vatican City and it's conversion into a massive casino and resort complex. His connections with the Italian government and the 'silencing' of two prominent Catholic protestors ensured a smooth opening, and it soon became the new headquarters for the Yakuza.
