Profile

Laika is the youngest lieutenant in the history of the Swiss Special Forces, being just barely into his early thirties. A mixed-race child of a Chinese banker and a member of the Swiss Guard, Laika always found himself fighting an uphill battle in the heavily stratified social world he lived in. Athletic and driven, Laika excelled in school and enlisted in the voluntary and highly elite Swiss Special Forces. He made the cut and began an illustrious career as a professional soldier. For many years, things went well for Laika, but then he faced the Maverick occupation of Europe. Laika and his Special Forces brothers assisted the European resistance, taking heavy losses but still managing to eke out victories against the Maverick hordes. After his father died in defense of the Pope, Laika drove himself even harder, earning numerous commendations for valor and gallantry. At the end of the occupation, Laika earned a promotion to Lieutenant several years before he would have normally qualified, and continues to serve in the Special Forces with distinction. He takes threats to his nation as personal affronts, and shows no mercy or restraint when fighting to protect his countrymen. Those under his command respect and venerate him because of his strong leadership abilities and personal courage. Despite being lionized in the badlands of Europe, Laika rarely speaks of his past experiences, preferring his present actions to speak for him. He is a master marksman and one of the Special Forces' best biathletes, which is a considerable achievement among his peers. Sometimes accused of being overly traditionalistic, Laika dislikes vigilantes, believing that the rule of law should be maintained to prevent anarchy.
