Kalinka was born into difficult circumstances. Raised in a single parent household by Dr. Cossack due to her mother's untimely death, she found herself continually disadvantaged by her father's struggle with substance abuse and depression. Kalinka was kidnapped at the age of 6 just after Dr. Cossack's unveiling of ride armor, but was rescued by Proto Man before Dr. Cossack had to pay her considerable ransom. Generally, Kalinka is very sweet and polite, and easily charms those she meets. However, Kalinka has been accused on more than one occasion of being more than a little spoiled, and is usually referred to in the Russian press as "the Princess". Her extraordinarily violent temper, when it does manifest, is the stuff of legends. For a while, Kalinka took an active part in the war: first the Maverick Hunters, then Interpol. However, her desire to be rescued from peril eventually grated on both organizations, and she found herself off in the private sector once again. Since then, she has settled into a comfortable role as a globe-trotting socialite and dilettante, and has a rotating entourage of hangers-on and boyfriends around her at any given moment.
