Profile

"Always got a good reason not to do it wrong."

Bomber Gier-Eagle was once an aerial bombardment unit of Repliforce whom made a brash mistake that took many innocent lives in a bombing run in 2205. Instead of deactivation, a relative of one of the victims put the idea of Reploids having emotions put to the test, and had him covertly thrown into prison to suffer for his crimes, where he became hateful and bitter. Attempting to repay his debts to society once freed in 2219, the Hunters one day took notice and offered him a second chance at what he was made to do. Renaming himself "Jailbird Gier-Eagle," he still wears his bonds in respect of his old sins. Armed with a large iron ball made lighter for ease of use with anti-grav system and kinetic dampeners along with powerful air generators that allow him to both stay aloft and fight, he serves mostly as a straightforward air-to-ground attack specialist. Sometimes harsh in speech as result of his lifestyle up until recently, he still strives to become a good person to society, attempting to guide those younger than he away from the path he went. He remains careful of repeating the mistakes that led him astray.

Background

Trivia/Facts

  • Jailbird Gier-Eagle may be the first Reploid to have been committed to a civilian correctional facility. The circumstances in question were extraordinary and well out of legal boundaries, although he was later given a proper sentence following a social disturbance he had staged to save lives during the reign of Ra Moon's terror.
  • Unless it is absolutely necessary, he prefers to walk while shouldering the weight of his ball. This is so he "doesn't forget how to walk."
  • He does not have the necessary generator components to be able to consume food. He can, however, drink water and other such drinks without complication.
  • He aspires to be a Roman Catholic priest, in the event the Robot Wars ever comes to an end with himself as one of the survivors.

Other

Much of Jailbird was designed very closely after the species he is based on, the Egyptian Vulture ('Gier-Eagle' is another name for them, and was chosen because it was the only name that fit into the typical MMX boss name convention). They are well known for picking up rocks and dropping them onto abandoned ostrich eggs.
