"Without power, our ideas will be ignored."
Profile
Epsilon, like the others in his build series, was made to be a charismatic leader of Reploids, and was intended to be one of the many officers in the Repliforce army. With Sigma's betrayal, the others in Sigma's line were put into stasis for "examination". Epsilon did not surrender to the authorities when he was told to, and as a result was incorrectly labeled a Maverick. Epsilon, on the run from everyone, started the Irregular movement to stand against all the existing powers of the world. Epsilon only met with moderate, short-term success until he stopped mimicking Sigma and developed his own distinct philosophy and command style. Epsilon's ability is often underestimated due to his numerous eccentricities and passionate love of the arts, but behind an epicurean demeanor is a ruthless strategic mind that specializes in finding the way of doing the one thing no one would expect -- or prepare for.
Short Background
Epsilon was once a Repliforce officer, but ultimately was driven into exile from Sigma's fall. He began the Irregular movement as a response to the Mavericks, wanting to find a solution to the problem of Reploid oppression without genocide. Flamboyant and eccentric, Epsilon is known for his unpredictable yet brilliant tactics and unorthodox strategies.
Epsilon has extensive training in military science, with specializations in terrorism studies and leadership. He also has an extensive liberal arts education with minors in both literature and philosophy, which is unusual for a Repliforce officer. He is said to be a competent but not especially insightful hacker, specializing in the deployment of Trojan viruses. He is also an excellent Reploid cosmetologist.
History
See Irregulars: History for Epsilon's early history.
Between the destruction of Mars and Epsilon's return to Earth, Epsilon went on a most excellent adventure through time and space with Dr. Gravity. It turned out to be an extensive journey of self-discovery that eventually allowed him to find some peace within himself. However, this peace would be short lived, as the war against Ra Moon had just begun. He rallied his forces and led the Irregulars against a seemingly all-powerful foe. In the end, as Mega Man battled Ra Moon, Epsilon once more faced Patriarch, his most hated enemy. The two clashed, but Epsilon's true power -- his love for his Irregulars -- allowed him to win the day.
The horror of the Genocide Virus is still fresh in Epsilon's mind. The terrorist acts of the Pantheon forced Epsilon to choose between the demands of his warrior spirit and the call of his heart to tend to the sick and dying afflicted by the plague. Ultimately, Epsilon's need to minister to those who were suffering overcame his wrath. His empathy almost destroyed him, as the Genocide Virus began to ravage his own systems. It was only fortune that allowed the cure to save him in time.
Not long afterward, Epsilon had what he thought would be his last battle against Sigma. Despite the strength of his Irregulars at his side, Epsilon was ultimately defeated by Sigma. Epsilon saw nothing of his brother in the eyes of the monster he became, and that realization was ultimately what prevented him from finding the strength he needed to prevail.
Afterward, Epsilon went into repose. The Irregular cause was uncertain how to proceed as their leader sought answers in solitude. However, this rest would not last long; threats from other dimensions encroached into his world, and once more the strength of Epsilon would be needed to protect his people. His desperate battle against Copy X haunts Epsilon, as he was unable to destroy Copy X before his body, infected by treachery with the Genocide Virus by Dr. Weil, was taken into "New" Neo Arcadia to their doom. The Kaiser, however, affirmed Epsilon's beliefs; that he had been right to oppose Sigma, who seemed destined to become drunk on his own power.
A new decade looms. Epsilon, weathered from his lengthy battles, once more charges into a new world with as much optimism and courage as he can manage. The world seems to be improving, and yet some things remain the same. The struggle continues.
Trivia/Cool Facts
Epsilon rambles a lot. He used to be much worse, but not having anyone to speak to for months on Mars combined with the trauma of the entire experience has made him more sparing with his words. When he is excited or happy, he tends to carry on at great length about his thoughts and feelings. His anger can always be foreshadowed by a sudden onset of terseness. When he is fully enraged, he will not speak at all. However, Epsilon's anger is a passing cloud. He takes joy in intellectual and philosophical discussions with others, as it gives him an opportunity to prolystize and preach his gospel. He'll even argue with Neo Arcadians (as if they're talking, they aren't moving, allowing him to get closer).
Epsilon has an unusual preference for Orange Crush. It was the first thing he ever consumed, and it was given to him by Dr. Doppler because he found the bright color and the smooth texture of the can interesting. It makes him think of his father when he was still a kind and gentle man rather than the monster he gradually became. He generally likes things which are sweet or are served with sweet things, and always keeps some candy around his desk for Irregulars when they visit him.
