Profile
Originally the faithful sycophantic minion of Dr. Takeshi Shinchiro, Energize was his go-to girl for everything that involved a rough and ready goon. This included cheering him on, praising him, stealing action figures, stealing him fresh jam, and collecting hydroponic equipment. However, behind closed doors, Energize was far more calculating and horrible than anyone gave her credit. Following the disappearence of Dr. Shinchiro, she met with Geetz to discuss her true intentions, and under the tutelage of Crazy Yoshi, began to rise in power.
Background
Energize was born Mizuho Inada, ambiguous relative to Red Dragon Striders Kilalu Inada and Ryuwhei Inada. The life of a strider required the pinnacle of physical ability, something that Mizuho was always one step short of. She was not able to reach the physical perfection that life demanded, and as a result, was ostracized by her family and other Striders.
Fleeing from her life, she took up a normal life as a student. Humiliated, she began to look into the way of improving on physical ability- cybernetics. For someone who was unable to achieve the physical demands of the Striders, it seemed to be the answer to all Mizuho's questions. She began what would become a lifelong obsession with cybernetics.
However, this led her down a dubious path, as her research became darker and more illegal. She desired revenge, and the secret spark of darkness grew inside of her. One day, she ran afoul of Rungo Naaza in an illegal cybernetics ring, and found herself in the hands of Dr. Takeshi Shinchiro. However, recognising the glint in her eyes, Takeshi offered her the chance to work with him, and rebuilt her into Energize.
Upgraded with a superior cybernetic arm, leg, face and subcutaneous implants, Energize gave in to her obsession and darkness. She became a hedonist of the highest order, and worked alongside Dr. Shinchiro in all of his projects. Chief among these was the cyber-conversion of Miharu Sakamoto, whereupon Energize gained her primary weapon system- the counterpart to Miharu's, the Toukon Generator. The Toukon or 'Battle Spirit' generator created energy linked to the rage of its user, and unlike its counterpart, Energize's was purely offensive.
She entered the IC world and began a string of typical goonery, quickly establishing herself as a Minion. She accompanied the League of >:( in all of its heists and activities, and frequently cheered on its members.
Energize, however, retained her private face, and began to work on her own. She quickly migrated to the city forming under the Space Elevator known as Scrap Iron City, and quickly established herself as a prime gang leader there. She became a gun runner and doc, providing cheap weaponry and cybernetics to the people there. She also built a significant base underground there, with all the comforts of hedonism.
The formerly civilian roboticist Liz Braeden was the first person to get to know the place very personally. In an event which she has barely spoken to anyone about. Energize displayed her true capabilites when she kidnapped Liz, and over a period of weeks slowly broke her will with emotional and psychological torture, turning her into an agent of the Yakuza. Braeden was never seen again after walking through the doors of Energize's base.
Following the public appearence of Miharu once again, Energize engaged in a long campaign of teasing and annoying her. Due to a particularly long bender, she admitted that she had lost many of the critical memories of what she actually did to Miharu, but she continually taunted that 'things' had happened between them, which, like much of the innuendo she said on radio is utterly untrue.
Energize also engaged in a campaign against the Inadas, when she found Kilalu in Neo Arcadia. In one vicious confrontation she met up with her relative, and the two fought bitterly. Kilalu constantly insisted that there was something deeply wrong with 'Mizuho' and that Neo Arcadia could 'fix' her, whereas Energize insisted that it was Kilalu that needed to be 'fixed'. Turning the full power of her Thunder Spark on her, Energize knocked her unconcious and brought her back to a secret lab, where she would have converted Kilalu into a cyborg if she had not been rescued by Neo Arcadia. During this incident, Energize's hair was badly cut, revealing that she had replaced her eyes with black hollows laden with enhanced sensory equipment.
She continued to make Kilalu's life a misery over the next few months, insulting her parentage and using the same taunts she had on Miharu. This ended when Kilalu was essentially 'killed' by the Maverick commander Vile, and had to have her entire body restored from her brain and spinal stem. Following this, Energize considered Kilalu effectively 'dead' and saw no further need to bother her, because it was pointless.
As Dr. Shinchiro grew more distant during 2219, Energize struck out on her own, expanding her control over Scrap Iron City and the size of her base. She performed many solo raids for Sera, capturing or attempting to capture various valuable items just to keep herself busy.
During the alternate universe fiasco, Energize was one of the instigators of the entire debacle. Approaching the Ra Moon cultists in San Angeles, she wrestled with Blues and Daryn over the stellar drive, causing its initial rupture and the dimensional discontinuity. Energize was pulled into the alternate Neo Arcadia, who healed her radiation poisoning. She became the only person to willingly remain in the city, integrating as a civilian and trying to win the trust of the alternate Guardians. However, she planned long-term and was working slowly and surely, and when the alternate universe was ousted within a week, all her plans were for nothing. During this incident, the matter of her eyes was also made obvious to everyone present, although she still hides them under a mop of hair for the sake of maintaining her appearence.
However, it had given her complete independance, and Energize realised she liked not having to pretend. When Dr. Shinchiro all but disappeared, she announced to Geetz that she was dropping the goon's facade and would assume full responsibility as a Yakuza leader. Recieving support and funding from Crazy Yoshi, she worked closely with the old man, developing a fierce and respectful teacher-student rapport which quickly exceeded anything between her and Shinchiro.
During the Battle and Chase, she was forced to use a disguise for the majority of her bracketed events due to her nebulous criminal history, until the costume pretty much collapsed during the obstacle course. She won two silver medals in Battle and Chase in all. She was treated rather nicely by the officials despite being criminal scum, as she never stole anything recently that could be pinned to her, partly thanks to the support of Crazy Yoshi.
Following Battle and Chase, she has been trying to re-establish herself. She has frequently been seen supporting the Neo Arcadian renegades to create a bond between them and the Yakuza, and has funded several mercenaries so as to investigate the Dragon Half Striders.
She attempted to enter the portal in the pacific ocean, attempting to take over the universe in the name of the Yakuza, but after spending under ten seconds in the Discord Bowl she turned on her heel and ran for it.
She found a lot more success in the steampunk universe. Trading drones and power cores with the Mavericks, she acquired some capital in the form of precious metals. Following this, she aided the Mavericks in an attempted train robbery, but due to the elite Hunters and Colonel present there, the Mavericks were defeated. She tried to stop the maglev train but by the time she'd got to the front, the Mavericks were already routing. She fought Marino and was driven off, whereupon she left for the portal.
Energize entered a portal in Seattle, which led her to a universe in which crime ruled the dark streets, which were lit by neon. She contacted her alternate by phone and journeyed with her to Kansas. Energize decided to remain in this universe, and was given a refit by her other self. She protected the Lexcorp building from a Maverick attack, fighting Volt Catfish, and was thrown from the building after crippling Volt. She retreated and watched the portal close, and stayed there with Mizuho, her other self.
Trivia/Facts
- Energize maintains an extensive cadre of Japanese doujin soft groups, and is a primary producer of comic materials featuring luminaries of the robot wars, which are often made for humiliating them. However, significant stocks of these were destroyed on the 20th anniversary of the Robot Wars, when Heat Man exploded in the Donachi business district, burning several shops to the ground.
- Energize is one of the biggest names in Scrap Iron City, controlling most of the crime and violence that takes place there. She considers the place her home and protects it.
- Energize is a hedonist, but many of her 'exploits' that she alludes to on the radio are entirely made up. This was all part of an elaborate facade she created over the years to make most people think very little of her.
- Energize's buster color has nothing whatsoever to do with her actual colors. This is a reference to many Robot Master weapon colors, which likewise have very little to do with the actual colors.
Battle and Chase
Battle and Chase 2219
- Battlebots- entered with the battlebot 'Pikarra SP', an upgraded version of one of the drones she uses. Initially was able to defeat Overclock's reaverbot-based battlebot in the first round, but was later eliminated.
Battle and Chase 2220
Energize entered several events this year, to prove to many people her competency and ability as a sign that she wasn't just Shinchiro's lapdog. She presented a mixed performance.
- Battlebots- entered with the battlebot 'Live Wire', built in the design of Geetz's power armor as a tribute to him. Unfortunately, was paired against Crazy Yoshi's Brain Sick Metal in the first round and was eliminated.
- Extreme Pong- was paired against Erwin Rossenburg. In a ridiculous match, the launcher made Energize and Erwin its bitch, scoring all points almost entirely by itself. Energize lost, but was in tearful hysterics by the end.
- Dodgeball- Energize awoke from a drunken bender to realise she had signed Gem Phoenix, somehow, onto her team. She was greatly relieved when Sewa substituted, along with Crimson Falcon, but it didn't stop her being beaten by Overclock, Echo and Ninetails. However, the fight helped her towards overcoming her fear of Reaverbots, and she expressed that she might one day show interest in joining the Mavericks.
- Obstacle Course- Energize met with Bola in the run up to the match and was looking forward to beating up people she would never get the excuse to again, such as Kalinka Cossack. However, to her amazement, she actually began to place as the obstacles and Mavericks knocked out other competitors. In the final laps of the race, she realised she was actually one of the only people left standing, against two Striders- Linnea Blossom and Setsulo Swanson. Energize defeated them and won a Silver Medal, which was insanely significant for her as it proved that she was physically able to defeat two Striders. After the match, Setsulo gave her water, and she began to feel less hatred in general towards striders as a whole, having had an epiphany.
- Car Race- Energize entered the car race and got off to a flying start, entering first place immediately. A powerful ram from Prismatic Spider knocked her down to last place, and she had to make up the distance. She came under heavy fire- being sandwiched between Durandal and Cinnamon and taking repeated laser fire from Metal Man. Deciding return fire was pointless, she endured further attacks from Durandal and King and qualified for the final.
- In the final, she shot ahead, but dropped behind when she failed to hit Michael Eildath. She made up the distance, taking heavy damage, and was violently ill due to bad food. She released part of her collapsing car, and crushed Mike's racer, earning one thousand zenny from Daryn for doing so. She achieved a second silver medal, and her car collapsed almost directly after crossing the finish line.

Author's Notes
Who ever thought she'd have come this far, huh? Energize began as an Overclock cyborg, and ended up switching to a Takoborg. She, unlike Max, has been a character I don't think I've ever got to play to the hilt, perhaps because I spent a very large amount of time playing the fool as her, and all in all, it ended up working too well.
Now, a lot of people don't take her seriously, but I don't regret it, as I don't particularly mind playing her silly anyway. She's also always excellent fun to fight with, as I have a wonderful blend of electricity attacks and cool things I can do as her, as long as I remember which arm is which.
Energize probably needs new people to victimise and work with and against, since back in the day she was all the time harming Miharu and Kilalu. She is also, rather notably, the only living member of a White Dragon Strider family to be a player character, aside from Wiggin, so I think I'll pick that thread back up...
