"Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Because I'm thinking of everything!"
Profile
Elec Man was one of the original Alpha Squad, one of the first eight androids built in the world, built by the joint efforts of Drs. Cain, Light, and Wily. Elec and his five brothers were stolen by Wily and became the first Robot Masters, and this would last until Light's murder at his rival's hands - at which point the code finally broke, and he became free. Elec Man remains an extremely spastic individual, constantly jittering and talking, always moving and playing practical jokes and throwing light-hearted jabs at friend and foe alike. Now, however, he seems to desperately seek to make his redemption matter, working as hard as he can to do what he does best, overwhelming his opponents with his incredible electric powers.
Background
Elec Man was the 8th and final android created by the team of Drs. Light, Wily, and Cain. His original task was managing the power systems of Neo-Tokyo - he was capable of sinking tremendous amounts of power safely, and could generate the same. It's no surprise that Dr. Wily made sure to secure this powerful robot for his epic betrayal.
In the attack on San Angeles, Elec Man was a powerful force. Notable actions include securing the primary power plant and wreaking havoc with the city's infrastructure, and severely injuring officer Massimo Cavallo, an act with unforseen consequences.
IC History
Around the year 2215, Elec Man and Dr. Wily successfully engineered a ruse where Elec Man appeared to have shaken off the WilyCode, running to the shelter of the Hunters in the Neo-Tokyo Light Labs. Elec Man used his time (and high security clearance) wisely, compiling a complete map of the structure as well as its weak points. He was outed by the Hunter Feedback while passing this information off to Shadow Man, and had a long period of downtime and repair after Dr. Cossack had 'sabotaged' his programming by revealing to him the true memories of his past.
More recently, near the end of 2219, Elec Man found himself at the forefront of three separate instances of dimensional travel, all three times falling headfirst into the 'portal' before anyone else entered it. The first instance came when San Angeles was replaced with a giant portal to an alternate Neo Arcadia - the second was when himself, Cut Man, Guts Man, Gemini Man, and Ballade attempted to steal Auto's dimensional stabilizer, resulting in the Masters being thrown into the real San Angeles while another took its place. While the 'prime' Elec Man worked alongside Mister Famous to restore San An to its rightful place in the multiverse, the alternate Elec Man - whose WilyCode never reasserted when Redips was destroyed - fought together with the Hunters for a time, bringing new hope to Rock and Dr. Light that the redemption of their Elec Man may still be possible.
Trivia/Facts
- Elec Man uses three distinct 'colors' of electricity: yellow is the most basic, used in standard electric attacks; white appears in the more powerful attacks, giving a solidity and weight to the Thunder Blade and Thunder Beam; blue denotes electromagnetism and is also an important component in Elec's sonic attacks.
- Elec Man has a storied history of almost doing well in Battle and Chase, the most obvious example being the Massive Damage competition of 2217, where a stumble on a stray shard of the first Nerpium block (destroyed by Milan in a freak gas line incident) caused him to miss his Thunder Beam in the final round. His curse was finally broken in the 2219 Battle and Chase, where he secured the silver medal in the car race with his Thundercrash Mk. IV.
- Elec Man is an eternal presence on the global broadband radio, doling out custom-tailored insults at a near-constant rate. The intelligence of his humor varies randomly between below sophomoric and incredibly subtle.
- Elec Man tends toward feuding with specific people who have earned his ire: past and present targets include Chill Snowcat (for destroying one of his prized paddleballs), Dynamo (for snatching the sword rumored to be Excalibur from him during Scott Wily's first great betrayal)), Glaive (on general principle), Steel Massimo (for not dying the first time Elec killed him), and Axl (for not being clever enough).
- Elec's permanent grudge, however, is with Blues. Elec cannot handle the fact that he can't beat Blues, whom he refers to as the 'faulty prototype.' He goes out of his way to antagonize the older android at every single opportunity, no matter how many failures have occured in the past.
- Elec is a skilled electric guitarist, but rarely plays publically due to not being at Star Man's level.
- Static is Elec Man's cat, a fully-grown Siberian. He appeared when Elec Man detonated an experimental VoltBomb within the WilyDrome soon after its trip to subspace, hoping it would somehow do... something positive. There was no explosion, but rather the bomb detonated into a cat.
- Elec has the world's largest collection of paddleballs.
- Elec claims to have never lost a true battle of wits, but he also tends to only challenge unarmed foes in earnest.
- Elec Man has begun to experiment with rudimentary gadgetry, successfully building a Battlebot for the 2219 Battle and Chase.
- Elec Man seems intimidated by Tesla, worried that the Patron Saint of Electricity will supplant him.
