Eclipse

Previously the moon city run by the Robot Masters.

Eclipse was the latest in a long line of Robot Master attempt at a city under Wily's control. It served as a habitat for humans and reploids, but was also a Robot Master fortress. Eclipse was divided into a number of sectors, with each sector being controlled by one or more squads of Robot Masters. That included an arena similar to the one in Tartarus, a biosphere, administrative buildings, medical facilities, residential habitats, and of course a Skull Fortress. It is surrounded by an indestructible shield of something the Robot Masters creatively call "plotdevicium".

All of this changed on January 2nd, 2221, when Blues detonated a Force Metal nuclear device within the city, wiping it off the moon and causing significant damage to the moon itself.

An estimated 150,000 people were killed when the warhead detonated. A vast number of Robot Masters were also destroyed in the blast, and their much-vaunted E-Ring System was destroyed.
