Profile

Pavel Cossack is a brilliant mechanical engineer with a checkered past. Pavel rose from poverty to graduate at the top of his class from the Russian Academy, though spent a term in mandatory civil service in the Red Army not long afterward. Pavel met his wife near the end of the time in the army, and together they had a daughter, Kalinka. Not long after giving birth, Pavel's wife died of a rare genetic illness, leaving Pavel to raise Kalinka alone. Pavel threw himself into his work as a UN weapons engineer afterward, perfecting the Goliath ride armor and constructing his son Vava, who would later become Vile. Tragedy would strike again when Dr. Wily kidnapped his daughter to compel Pavel's obedience, but the swift actions of the Hunters (in particular, Protoman) saw Kalinka's safe return. Pavel joined the Hunters not long afterward. Pavel ultimately put an end to Vile by his own hands, and saw his cousin Nicholas "Sage Harpuia" Kraska die in his arms not long afterward. As a result of the unrelenting horror of his life, Pavel has retreated within himself. Few outside of his closest associates see past Pavel's irascible, gruff exterior. Behind his façade is a pious and repentant man who has given up almost everything he valued so that others could be free. Pavel is a national hero in Russia for his efforts to help the less fortunate through the philanthropy of his humanitarian charity-slash-holding company, the Cossack Foundation.

Trivia

• Dr. Cossack has needed major genetic reconstruction several times during his tenure as a Hunter. He was recently regrown from his central nervous system outward after being severely damaged by Force Metal radiation.

• Dr. Cossack has several "children" (listed in approximate chronological order); Beat, Vava (Vile), Kalinka, Swing, Sasha and Axl. He reportedly has another adopted ward, Melissa Vorlaikal, though legal custody of the child is held by an Andruw Nisse.

• Dr. Cossack is a fan of Russian country music.
