Profile
A perennial screwup, yet a tenacious one, Sgt. Denise Marmalade always tries her best, even if her best tends to never be good enough. Be it due to bad luck, bad situation, or simply doing the absolute wrong thing at the wrong time, she never seems to be able to get things right. Having been assigned to the Bonne Family investigation since the pirates first appearance, she has the most extensive knowledge of anyone else about the Bonne brothers (and the Bonne sister!), but it doesn't help. Always one step ahead of her, like everyone and everything else in her life, they, especially Tron in particular, have become somewhat of an obsession for her. Deceptively strong and resilliant, she's managed to survive through the dozens of mishaps she's been involved in, most of which could've easily killed the average human. After the fall of Interpol, Denise was briefly assigned to STARS, but didn't end up suiting the group during its transfer to Repliforce. From here, she moved to Texas, working for the nation-state in their power armor divisions. However, she still has her sight on more international persuits, and stopping the Bonnes in particular.
Background
Denise is an ordinary girl.
She was born in smalltown Iowa, where her parents still live to this day. She was born a bit before all this Robot Wars nonsense. Her father was a smalltown cop. Her mother was a smalltown mom.
Or, rather, best to say they -are,- not were, since they are both still alive and well and living in smalltown Iowa.
Dad loved his job. I say love'd' because he doesn't work anymore. He's retired. Injured by a shot to the leg while trying to stop your standard convenience store robbery. He refused any kind of cybernetics so he's still missing half a leg. Mom is sweet and a good cook. Dinner involves a lot of corn. Denise also has an older sister named Samantha who went into the fashion buying industry.
Since there were no sons in the family, Denise took up the badge also, to please her dad. But, as it turns out, she was a bit better than a smalltown cop. It had something to do with genetics, apparently. Despite her impressive physical abilities, mom and dad also insisted on some maritial arts, because a small frail delicate young lady must protect herself. Hence Denise has a black-belt in Judo which in no way prevents her from being a klutz.
Denise was promoted a few times and eventually ended up in Interpol shortly after the fall of RF island. After that she was assigned to STARS. She is currently an independant cop.
