Creation

Some science-based OC characters or FC characters occasionally like to develop robots of their own, or other player's OCs. Here are the guidelines for which characters are allowed to create which types of other characters.

Androids

Any character with the Robotics skill can build an Android. An Android in this case is defined as: anything that is robotic and whose behaviors are hard-coded. This covers the range of robots from a drone-like conciousness to a fully sentient android such as a Robot Master.

The intelligence of your character determines how intelligent of an android you can build. If your character has robotics, but is not particularly smart, he is limited to creating drone-like creatures. Though they have the same legal rights as androids (that is to say, none), these drones are no smarter than the average Sniper Joe or small animal. In order to create fully sentient androids with behavior and intelligence that mimics or approaches mimicing human behavior, your character should probably have a 9* or 10* Intelligence. Dr. Wily is the only creator genius enough to build an android smarter than himself. The non-sentient drone-type reploids created by lesser robotics experts do not generally make suitable player-characters.

A character with Hacking can, if given the opportunity, reprogram the hard-code of androids to some degree. A hacker could, for example, program a foundling Met to do a series of repetetive functions for him, even if that hacker did not know how to build the Met from the ground up. The more sentient the android, the less hacking can effect it. Wily's androids are extremely well-programmed and resist all tampering of this nature.

Reploids

Any character who has the knowledge to create a Reploid neural net can build a reploid. Whether or not you know how to build a net is part of your character concept itself, not a function of your having the Robotics skill. Knowing or learning how to build a net can be apped from the beginning, or roleplayed out, but it is NOT assumed that all characters with the Robotics skill understand how to create a reploid mind.

There is no minimum intelligence to create a reploid, but the character must have the Robotics ability and the knowledge of the neural net.

Maverick characters can only build Maverick reploids. Maverick characters can build androids if they really want, but any reploid built by a Maverick PC will be a Maverick. The Coalition wants it that way.

Hybrids

Hybrids are special cases, and are dealt with on a case by case basis. Please do not apply for a Hybrid OC.

Cyborgs

A character with both Heal and Robotics can do complete cybernetic work. There is no minimum intelligence requirement for this, but you must have both abilities if you are going to create full-converstion cyborgs. The amount of cybernetic work done by different doctors varies widely, and simple cybernetics may only require, for example, a first_aid/robotics combination, or a heal/jury_rig combination. However, if you are creating cyborg characters for play, generally you require the advanced abilities. A team of characters who combined their abilities: say, one character with Heal and one with Robotics, could also feasibly work together to create a cyborg.

E-humans

As far as anyone knows, only Neo Arcadia makes true e-humans. Please do not apply for a non-Neo Arcadian e-human.
