The concept of Consensual RP is easily the most important set of protocols to remember when indulging in a roleplay setting. When you log into the Mega Man MUSH, you are entering a world that essentially has no limits. Practically anyone on the globe can enter this world. Keeping this in mind, you can easily see that each player could potentially bring a very diversified set of ideals and concepts to the MUSH. This being the case, it is very important that you always practice Consensual RP. Consensual RP is best described as the background notion that allows everyone to have a good time while roleplaying. This system is based on several ideas. First, one should never feel pressured to roleplay something that they are not OOCly comfortable with. Even though you may be dealing with the most emotionless and cruel vampire of a character, you must remember that there is a human being just like you controlling that character, and that human being can be as easily hurt or offended as you. If you ever feel that the roleplay that you wish to attempt could be interpreted as offensive, it is imperative that you ask OOCly all parties involved. In essence, the old adage "better safe than sorry" are fine words to live by when participating in roleplay. Ask first before questionable RP.

Finally, remember that the whole reason we all log into places like this is for fun in a social environment. If we didn't like being here, we could always log off and head somewhere else. Remember that we are all friends with a common interest. And by that virtue, we should be able to work through any problem that comes up. Consensual RP will always persevere as the key way to achieve great roleplay, meet friends and have a good time.
