Consensual-Death

The admin and players are all sympathetic to the fact that you have spent a lot of time and effort in your particular character, as such, they are quite hard to just throw away and start over from scratch. When applicable we will do everything within our power to find a way to save/revive them.

However, this does not mean that there are no IC consequences for your actions or that you can do whatever you like because you OOCly know that your character will not be nuked. There are times when there's no other choice but to terminate a character, and you should be aware of them.

Termination in this case means that if you are an OC, you will be removed from the character, and the OC will be nuked. If you are a FC and get into this situation, you will be removed from the character, and the FC will be considered heavily damaged for repair for the next player.

Some situations in which you can ICly die follow. These are the most likely possible situations, and in most cases, situations where condeath may be lost will be reviewed on a case by case basis by the administration.

1. You may decide to have your own OC killed. At your own consent, your character can be killed at any time for any reason (except actual suicide, which is not allowed). Please be absolutely sure you want to do this, because OCs who die will not be permitted to be resurrected later. You may decide to plan out a dramatic death, or you may just want to get your character out of the way for a new app, but if you'd like to go out with a bang, we can accomodate you. FCs may not decide to forfeit their own condeath without consulting staff first.

2. Otherwise, condeath is only lost as a result of it being abused. Acting in a way that would not be IC if your character were not protected by condeath is how you can lose it. Even characters with 10 courage should have enough sense of self preservation to explain their continued survival. If you are acting in a way which seems to risk losing condeath, we will tell you about it and give you the opportunity to change your character's behavior before it gets to that point. Examples of this sort of behaviour would be continually and pointlessly antagonizing powerful members of opposing factions or going rogue and attacking your teammates.

3. Infiltrators captured within enemy bases do not lose condeath just because their infiltration attempt failed. If you are caught, however, do not complain if you are captured and punished in a nonlethal way or ransomed. However, while a prisoner you should act in a way that is in character; merely being a prisoner does not make you immune to losing condeath due to subsequent behavior.
