Profile

"You! You killed my cousin's daughter's nephew's father's dog! I will destrooooooy yooooou after my long and dramatic transformation sequence!'

One of Scott's many "genius" creations, Cliché Man is a daring attempt to create a superior android design to that of his father's. Following the time-tested formula of game designers, copy someone else's extremely popular idea. Thus he created a structurally unsound, silver-haired bishounen of an Irregular Overlord with a pre-written tragic past which he can't remember. Arming him with a ridiculous large(and impractical) sword, a plethora of highly flashy(but not necessarily effective) weaponry, and a bad attitude, Cliché Man was sent out to serve the will of the young scientist...under the guise of accomplishing some terribly dramatic but entirely unfeasible cause. After all, what's the point of building an evil android to take over the world if he doesn't look awesome while doing it?

Background

Cliché Man was constructed several months ago in the midst of Scott Wily's push to compile a new contingent of Irregular Overlords whom he could use to fill the absence of those who departed with Epsilon into the depths of space. Scott, having overworked his brain with the vast number of robots he had designed, frantically sought out something which he could draw enough inspiration from to create yet another android before he set his plan into motion. This inspiration finally came....from the used game section at the local video game retailer.

Finally, Scott had found something which he could blatantly rip-off and get away with, something that would inspire fear(and strangely enough, adoration amongst the masses): the highly effeminate evil overlord prevalent in so many anime and Japanese video games. All the design elements were already there: appearance, attitude, weaponry...he just had to add his own artistic vision and put it into existence.

Scott realized however, that a large portion of what really made those character's were their long, tragic pasts, and thus, he decided to BS one into Cliché Man's hardcoding. For the sake of time and space, we will skip all that however and go into the fact that Scott also programmed Cliché Man to be completely amnesiac other than his loyalty programming. It will suffice to say that it had something to do with the death of a distant relative's pet, however.

Thus, Cliché Man was born, and sent out into the world to conquer it for the sake of Irregular cause...and under the false pretenses of finding his memories, fulfilling some age old promise...etc.

Trivia/Facts

No one really knows what happened to Cliché Man. During Scott's trip to Mars he was left behind, defeated by Giga Man, and left in a cornfield for around a week where he was mistaken for "one of them UFOs" by some country farmer. Chronoton Duck eventually rescued him by posing as a "Duck in Black"(DIB) and took him back to the Irregulars base. Maybe he's in cold storage somewhere?

An alternate Cliché Man once reappeared as part of Alt-U3, as part of Ballade's group of Overlords.

Despite the inefficiency of his enormous katana(which was later named Massive-Mune), Cliché Man was a moderately effective combatant with his energy weapons.

Cliché Man had a special "Final Boss Armor" that may or may not have been created under the influence of psychoactive drugs.

Skills: Latin Choir Accompaniment, Bishounen of DOOOOOOM!, Inexplicable Fanboy Gushing, Final Boss(es), Having Too Many Lives For One Man(Android), 100% Grade A-Angst, Unexplained Case of Amnesia(Despite Being Only a Few Months Old), Tragic Past That Didn't Really Happen, Big *****ing Sword, Requires Latin 1101, Overly Cinematic Destruction!, Obvious Plot Twists, How Many Adjectives Can Be Used On One Noun Anyway?, Hair Long Enough To Trip On Yet Still Waves Dramatically In the Wind, Flowing Hair Even Without Wind For That Matter, The Manpretty...It Burns!

Other

I hardly played Cliché Man and regret that in retrospect. Apparently he was a fairly memorable character, as he reappeared during Alt-U3.

In all honesty, Cliché Man's boss armor was potentially very dangerous in its build, but unfortunately I miscalculated his total and he wound up with a 41 instead of a 42. Whoops.

The original idea for Cliché Man wasn't my own, but rather a suggestion from Khroan which I ran with because I'm crazy that way.
