A rather notorious graffiti and mural artist in many major cities, Chroma Bee started life as a courier for a Chinese delivery service in Hong Kong. Frustrated by the state of his home, he attended an art school in Eurasia before setting off on his own. He expressed his views and ideas through his works, many of them calling an end to oppressive factions and supporting justice. This attracted the attention of the Hunters, and seeing his destiny unfolding, accepted their invitation. He is passionate and a positive thinker, reflected in the use of vivid colors and powerful imagery in his painting style, and respectful of street culture. He tends to buy into New Age mystical trends like feng shui and astrology, ignorant of their dubious validity, due to feeling they are 'uplifting'. Following his artistic skill, Chroma fights with chemicals he can shoot in the form of paintballs, or project energy into a multitude of bullets. His Plasma Paintball is simply a plasma-charged ball of chemicals that deals significant damage. Chroma hopes to be something much more than a graffiti artist, and fight for the ideals he only previously expressed on condemned building walls.
Background
Though built by Hong Kong's only robotics company, Chroma was sent to work for the Qing Niao courier service as a flying messenger. As he became more familiar with the city, he became increasingly frustrated with the destitution and crime rampant in his home. He sought an outlet to express his frustration; this was answered when he discovered a lone box of spray paint. He went out and tagged his name in big bubble letters, and was soon hooked. He took up the handle 'Chroma' to keep his new hobby a secret from his employers and the police.
Chroma soon left the courier service after two years and enrolled in an art school in Eurasia. He graduated with a degree after four years, having refined his technique and determined to make a name for himself around the world. His graffiti, as well as murals, started popping up everywhere; his speedy method of completing his works allowed him to avoid capture, though there were a few close calls. He took up residence in Giga City, but often returned to his homeland, moving back due to discomfort from the heavy Irregular movement there.
Chroma's works often spoke out against the oppressive governments of the time, and could be found in Berlin during the Maverick occupation, in Wily-held Africa, and even in Mexico in opposition of Neo Arcadia. The Hunters looked into his reputation and tracked him down to Hong Kong, offering him the chance to become a more active player in the fight against such tyrannical forces. Chroma, feeling this was a turning point in his destiny, accepted.
Death
On March 14th, 2221, Chroma Bee fell in battle against a biomonster known as the Nosferatu, during the final push against Alexia's forces in Iberia. He was helping to lead a large group of Juggalos into her base before he was killed.
Trivia/Facts
- Chroma's signature tag can be found all around the world at specific places, though he does not paint on historical landmarks. Rumors say he's tagged the legendary Gobi Desert ATM, William Wiggin's secret Himalaya base and other such secret areas.
- Chroma likes to listen to hip-hop and acid jazz, and actually has some experience as a club DJ.
- Chroma one day hopes to find out where the Stardroids went, or at least get abducted by aliens.
- Chroma is an official affiliate of the Juggalos, and keeps painted designs on his eyes to show his respect for them. He has fallen in love with the Juggalo culture, though he would not personally follow their exact ways himself.
