"There's things more important than just living the good life."

Profile

Bola is a cyborg who has found a cause in life. Early in his life, Bola and his brother Klaymoor sought to escape poverty by joining a Triad crime family. Things went well for both of them for a long time, and it seemed that the good times would never end. However, as is often the case in the underworld, they were betrayed in a deal gone bad and left for dead. Salvaged as full conversion cyborgs, they toiled for many years to pay off their debts before finally being able to pay back the Triads for saving them. Afterward, they threw in with the Bonne pirate gang to try to find the mythical "Mother Lode", but their quest ultimately ended in failure. With the rise of Ouroboros, Bola and his brother have joined with Meio's army to regain a sense of dignity and purpose that their lives as criminals could not give them. Bola and Klaymoor are an inseparable team, with Bola often trying to act as Klaymoor's overworked and underappreciated conscience. Bola is often considered laconic and aloof by his peers, and rarely seems to lose his temper. He has a tendency to seem almost bored in battle, but this is purely a strategic move to put his opponents off-guard.

Background

Bola and his older brother, Klaymoor were born into a rough part of Japan. Bola's smart mouth and indifferent attitude often got him into trouble that his big brother Klaymoor was always happy to bail him out of with a few good punches. Likewise, Klaymoor's thuggish tactics often had him in situations that only Bola's forever cool head could help get him out of. They didn't have much and wanted it all. Eventualy they found themselves members of a small time gang, a group of hooligans that were always upto no good.

Through a matter of luck, good or bad, the two soon found themselves under the eyes of a low ranking boss in the Yakuza. Seeing qualities he liked in these two youths he adopted them in a way. Now a part of the 'Big Time' the two found that they had access to things that they had never imagined possible. The two of them made a good team in the protection business, Good Thug, Bad Thug. It was a old formula and it worked.. of course the fact that their protection acxtualy meant a pair of toughs coming and breaking the shins of any young punks that hassled their customers helped out aswell.

It wasn't all fun and games however. There were gun fights and gang brawls, broken bones, knife wounds and bullet holes. Too low on the food chain for power armor, they found the extra muscle and protection they needed in the form of cybernetic enhancements. Slowly the two of them found themselves trading off bits and peices of their bodies for more and more machinery. At times they lemented their sacrifice but whenever the bullets started ricocheting off of their armored chests instead of drilling straight into their hearts.. they didn't feel so bad about it.

All in all, life was good. Klaymoor thrived on the excitement and Bola enjoyed the lavish lifestyle it allowed them to indulge in. The two of them did their jobs and kept everything just under the radar of the law. It all came to a head one fateful night however. A set up, Klaymoor and Bola were out on a job. Interpol was tipped off by one of their own and burst in with guns drawn. Many of Bola and Klaymoor's friends didn't make it out that night..

The two were stripped down to their essential cybernetic replacements and put in a cell together. It was a good plan. The two of them spent a entire five seconds talking about how difficult a spot they were in befor they begain to formulate a escape plan. Five days later and both Klaymoor and Bola were free once more and on their way out opf the country.

The two of them took on the roll of hired goons for a short while, building up enough money to rebuild their Cybernetic arsenal when they stumbled upon a trio of seemingly bumbling Pirates. "You can't be serious" said one, "Lighten up, it might be fun" said the other and soon the pair signed on with the Bonne pirate troop, finding themselves steady employment and someone to keep their cybernetic enhancements up to date and working all in one fell swoop.

Trivia/Facts

  • Bola is equipped with a forcefield generator, it is problematic however and he can rarely get it to come on when he needs it and it hardly stays activated for very long.
  • He secretly desires to regain a fully flesh and blood body once more. Thinks it's too risky to do while still 'in the lifestyle' with his brother.
