Androids

Androids are, in general, any sapient robot that is not a Reploid; that is to say, one that is not based on the original base programming of Rock. Unlike Reploids, androids are relatively rare, and are not mass produced.

Each android is a unique creation, built from the ground up with a custom CPU and code base. Many designs are based on the initial designs of Proto Man, although many are also fully unique. Still others are based on Reploid neural nets that have been partially rebuilt.

There is no standard android design, although there is a trend towards humanoid designs for ease of use of human equipment and facilities. Very few androids are built to be perfect human mimics, and only the best programmers could make an android capable of doing so. Most androids are civilians, although some work with the Maverick Hunters, the Irregulars, and other groups; the current Secretary General of the United Nations is an android hailing from China.

Androids require a bit more reasoning in their backgrounds due to their generally unique backgrounds, but are open for applications.
