Profile
Alexia Ashford is the world's greatest mass murderer. A brilliant but deeply troubled geneticist, Alexia sought to create human perfection and immortality through the use of a highly engineered super-virus. She succeeded only in creating a virus of such potency and lethality that the entire Raccoon City area had to be sterilized with the Apocalypse Cannon to prevent its spread throughout the rest of the world. She survived the incident by some means and spent years underground, perfecting herself and her beloved virus. Alexia reemerged in Willamette, having destroyed the entire city with her revised T-Virus, and then was the mastermind behind Euro Arcadia's rise to power. Alexia created the defunct Weil Numbers using strange technology many believe she stole from the Professor. It was Alexia who ultimately was the cause of the worldwide T-Virus pandemic in 2221, killing a third of the human population and leaving entire nations in ruins. In the end, Alexia was an amoral monster, only interested in her own power, and was ultimately destroyed by the world's militaries in a final confrontation in Portugal. Alexia had a love for ants and the seeming perfection of their "society", and wanted to remake the world as an enormous ant-hill -- with her at the center. It was only fitting that she was ultimately destroyed by being transformed back into the human body she hated so much before being incinerated by General's Ion Cannon.
Background
Alexia Ashford was one of the two surviving Ashford siblings. She was the twin of Alfred Ashford, who is considered her inferior. It is unclear who her mother was, though Alexander Ashford was definitely the father, or when she was born. She was raised in solitude, being instructed by tutors for several years before going to UCSD for her upper level degrees. She started college when she was very young, easily earning her undergraduate degree and master's in only a few years. She had her PhD while she was still apparently a teenager. During her PhD work, she had already worked within Umbrella on her various projects, one of which would become the T-Virus.
In 2214, the T-Virus was released in Raccoon City. Alexia was revealed to have been behind it, and had turned her father into the monster Nosferatu to help enforce her will. She also had access to a monster codenamed "Nemesis", the first of many that would be created over the next several years. Alexia was shot in the face with a shotgun at close range and was believed dead before the city was smote by General's Apocalypse Cannon.
Alexia somehow survived the Raccoon City incident, though her immortality created by the T-Virus had the price of altering her physical form. During her time in obscurity, she began working on a new virus that would be more effective at dealing with the human cattle she felt were the cause of the world's problems. Alexia took advantage of the chaos in Mexico to use an Umbrella facility controlled by Dr. Russell Barnaby in Santa Cabeza, Mexico to continue her work. Her new T-Virus strain would be less infectious but much more deadly, as it could be transferred from person to person by using specially developed flying ants. Once again, Alexia's henchmen were defeated and Alexia herself was seemingly killed by overwhelming force. Once again, her body was not recovered.

Alfred Ashford is said to have a strange, "unnatural" fixation on his sister, though Alfred has not been seen in many years and is believed dead.
A picture exists on the Internet showing a drunken Alexia in a group picture taken at the Alpha Omega Mu sorority house in San Angeles. Also in the picture is Magrevich Industries heiress Teresa Magrevich. This picture is used as "evidence" in numerous conspiracy theories.
Alexia Ashford survived two direct Ion Cannon strikes from General during a Repliforce assault on Belgium. It took the accidental ingestion of a retrovirus that eventually forced her T-virus into recession and transformed her back into human form before she was finally obliterated.
