WHO: Dr. Cain, Dynamo, Signas
WHAT: Signas confides his reluctance to fight Scarface in Dr. Cain. Dynamo appears to try and make amends.
WHERE: Central Europe
WHEN: April 16th 2221, Early morning

Europe has been through a lot over the last two years. To go over everything would take forever. Currently, Dr. Cain is sitting on an open table enjoying a cup of green tea, sipping it quietly, while watching the rising sun. He does not get moments like these that often. He looks around, peacefully.

Signas blinks in behind Dr. Cain's table. Because walking is for people who can't teleport. And Signas is not one of /those/ people. He stands silently for a few moments, watching Dr. Cain watching the sunrise.

After a few moments, Signas coughs quietly. "Dr. Cain," he says. "I see you are enjoying your green tea again." A pause. "I have heard it is good for flushing toxins." A pause. "Do you feel toxic, Dr. Cain."

"No, my boy," Edward says, not at all perterbed. He finished Signas's blink system when he was in storage. Ed sips his tea and sets it down on the table, "Though there was this one time in college, well.." Edward finishes with a chuckle, "I would rather not embarress you, my boy. Sit, sit. How are you doing?"

Signas nods, folding himself into a seated position next to the man who fished him out of a dusty drawer and turned him into a Real Boy. "Thank you for the invitation."

Signas waits for a while, watching the sun's incremental progress, then speaks. "I am... troubled, Dr. Cain." He lets that hang for a moment. "Events are spiraling out of control."

Dr. Cain is a very quick adapated individual. He picks up his tea cup and takes a quiet sip from it. He then lowers it down and tilts his head to the side at Signas's comment. "Well, my boy, if events weren't spinning out of control, I think our Earth would stop spinning. But, do tell me what is on your mind.."

Dynamo watches from a convient vantage point. Doctor Cain is there. And so is Signas. Dynamo knows that he wants to talk to Dr. Cain... he feels that he must, considering past events. But part of him is reluctant to do so. So he waits, building up the nerve... quite the thing for the almost fearless merc with a mouth.

Dr. Cain is a very frightening individual with lots of frightening children. Fear!

Signas clears his throat, and continues to look straight towards the horizon. As much as he's an excellent listener, debater, negotiator and conveyor of fisticuffs, he's not much on all this 'feelings' and 'opening up' hootenanny.

"During my time... away... I became friends with the Irregular known as Scarface. We have much in common, though he is admittedly a more... impassioned individual. When he approached me with his concerns about the UN's treatment of unconventional anti-Reploid weaponry, I shared his concerns. And I approached the UN." He pauses. "They were not receptive. I passed on my findings to Scarface. And... you have seen his response."

After a long moment, Signas sighs and looks down at his large, white, deadly hands. "Dr. Cain. I do not want to fight Scarface. But I fear that I will have to."

Dr. Cain is the epitome of a good listener. He's calm, collected, and really, he has never lost his temper. He lost control of his emotions when his best friend died, but who can blame him? Edward listens to Signas, and regardless if Signas remembers or not, one can probably bet that Edward was a big influence on the way his more serious kids compose themselves. Alia and Signas are both professionals who don't let their emotions get in their way when they have a job.

Edward leans back when Signas exposes his desire to not fight Scarface. He nods his head seriously, "It is a grave matter of the heart when one does not wish to fire upon a friend who has a place in said heart." Edward seems to choose his words carefully, "The fact of the matter is, it is a matter of choice. WE either choose our friend or we choose the world. We do not want to fight our friend, but sometimes, we have to stop them for the betterment of themselves and of the world."

"Son, you can even take my struggle with Albert. I don't want to fight him, but I really don't have a choice in this regard, becaue if I don't stand up, who else will?"

Dynamo listens to all of this, growing more and more uncomfortable. He's been questioning his own morality a lot lately, and this is getting dangerously close to his own issues. He shifts, generally being not terribly damn stealthy.

Signas listens to Edward's reply and is silent for a time afterwards. He raises one hand to pinch the bridge of his nose and sighs again. "I suppose my fuel pump will have to substitute for a heart in this scenario," he says at length.

"I understand what must be done. My duty is to the world and its safety." A hand clenches into a fist. "If I don't stand up... yes, I suppose." There is another long moment before Signas looks up again, balancing his arms on his knees. "I... suppose it is better for me to be the one to do this, rather than a stranger. I, at least, understand him."

"Sometimes beating them senseless is the way to get the point across to them if they start breaking things," Edward says with a chuckle, not commenting on Signas's literal-ness. The old man somehow knows Dynamo is there, "This is a public spot, boyo. You can stop stalking from the rooftop." To Signas, it may seem like he's saying this out of the blue.

Dynamo winces. Busted. The mercenary crackles with electricity, reappearing on the ground next to the two of them. He looks pretty much like usual: untrustworthy, though the typical smile is missing. "Yeah... hello, D... Doctor Cain," he says hesitantly. "And you, too, Signas."

"I must do my best, if he will not listen to reason," Signas says with finality, clenching both hands into fists, then releasing them. He nods, then looks up somewhat sharply as the Doctor speaks to Dynamo.

"Ah, Dynamo," Signas says levely, composure regained in an instant. "It is... unusual... to see you," he essays.

"What's unusual is that he hasn't challenged you to a pissing contest yet," Edward says rather jovially. Dr. Cain nods to Dynamo calmly and beckons Dynamo forward. Ed has an inkling what this might be about, but he likes it when people come to him honestly, "What's on your mind?"

"I..." Dynamo steps forward, hesitant and nervous, of all things. Something he very seldom is. "I... I wanted to apologize to you, sir. For all the trouble I've been to your family."

Edward squints slightly, "Trouble? You made my daughter very happy for the past few years. What trouble are you talking about?"

"Hh," is Signas' only comment. He remains alert but looks relaxed. One never knows, after all.

"And I wasn't there for her," he says solemnly. "So I feel I must apologize. I took all of you for granted, blindly focused on my love. I was greedy." Dynamo sounds serious for a change, and as if to prove it, he slips off his helmet, showing off his grey-blue eyes that he normally keeps hidden behind his visor.

Edward leans forward in his chair, "Dynamo, let me ask you a question." Dr. Cain watches the young man with is own blue grey eyes, "Are you gonna sully my daughter's memory by sulking around like this?"

Dynamo winces. "No, Doctor... but I felt I had to say this. I never felt that I was able to impress upon you how I felt about your daughter." Dynamo closes his eyes for a long moment, then draws something from his belt, laying it on the table before him. It's the hilt of his beamsaber, deactivated but genuine. "I want to be a better person. I owe it to her memory. So my blade is yours, if you ever have need of it."

"Dr. Cain raises an interesting point," Signas says evenly. "She is gone. But she lives on in our memories." Signas rocks forward and stands, towering to his full height. The sun continues to rise behind him and it is all just really dramatic, seriously.

"Do not apologise with your words, Dynamo." Signas looks down sternly at the mercenary, clasping his hands behind his back. "Apologise with your ACTIONS." As Dynamo offers his blade to Dr. Cain, Signas gives a nod.

Dr. Cain suddenly raises his eyebrow? Dr. Cain lowers his hands to the deactivated beam saber and turns it on, symbolically accepting Dynamo's offer. It feels strangely comfortable in Cain's hand. He raises it and lowers it calmly. He suddenly gets a gleam in his eye and casts a 'don't-tell-this-to-anyone' glance, before smiling devilishly, "Well, Dynamo, you could not have come at a better time."

Edward deactivates the beam saber and steps over to Dynamo, patting the reploid with his free hand, "I.. have a plan, but I will need your help." Ed smiles slyly, "You're gonna help me lean how to swing a blade so that I only have to swing once."

Signas looks down towards Dr. Cain inquisitively, raising his eyebrows. But he does not ask, because clearly he is about to learn.

Dynamo nods. "Very well." He looks at Signas. "I do not know what strength I possess, but I will do what I can to be a better person. For Alpha."

"Excellent, I will contact you shortly about a few things. I've got some things I want you to take care of for me, and I will need you to train me once I finish this project I have in mind. Mind you, I haven't even started it, so it will take time," Edward smiles at Signas, "My boy, do you think you can find me Pavel? I would like to talk with him."

Dynamo nods. "As you wish, Doctor. I am at your service." Not for the first time, Dynamo wonders if it's supposed to feel different, being a 'good guy'. He can't tell.

"Dr. Cain, I must say that the thought of you attacking people with a sword both amuses and concerns me," Signas comments. When the Doctor makes his request, Signas simply nods. "I will attempt to track down Dr. Cossack for you." A pause. "Do you mean... now?"

"No, no, not now. Now would be rediculous, don't you think?" Ed winks at Signas and then nods to Dynamo, "You should probably get some rest, Dynamo. Be yourself, still, but just remember that I'm here for you and that I'll have a few jobs for you, understand?"

Dynamo bows deeply. "Thank you, Doctor. You know where to find me." He rises, nodding at Signas as well. "Sorry for interrupting you two." Stepping back, Dynamo vanishes, as mysteriously as he came.

Edward lifts a finger to his lips at Signas, "Yes, well, the idea is to actually become proactive in things in this matter. Wily's back from the dead, and really, why do I have to sit on my butt because of it?"

Signas frowns (moreso than usual). "I... suppose," he says by way of response. As Dynamo vanishes, he nods towards the spot where the mercenary was moments ago. "I am sure we will see you again soon."

"What do you intend to have Dynamo do, Dr. Cain," Signas asks. "I hope it is not something so simply as 'cut Dr. Wily's head off'."
